Although this CD has the same title and artwork as my Vinyl LP does, it actually has little else in common. I've still got my old LP and 8-track of this album (though both are now VERY tired), and it would seem as though RCA conveniently "left out" three songs! What's going on? The original LP release in 1980 contained the following songs in this order:

1. Smoky Mountain Rain
2. Legend In My Time
3. Stand By My Woman Man
4. I Hate You
5. Pure Love
6. It Was Almost Like A Song
7. Daydreams About Night Things
8. Let's Take The Long Way Around The World
9. Let My Love Be Your Pillow
10 Please Don't Tell Me How The Story Ends
11 Back On My Mind Again
12. What A Difference You've Made In My Life.

Now, until RCA corrects this deliberate mistake, I'll hang on to my original record thanks.

From the wonderful "Pure Love" to the then-brand new "Smoky Mountain Rain", this is Ronnie Milsap at the beginning of his outrageous, chart-topping career. For those that loved Ronnie when he churned out good, old-fashioned country, this is for you. Aside from the fact that a few of the songs are pure depressors, it nonetheless satisfies the hard-core country listener and it is definitely a must-have.

A great CD containing nine of Ronnie's best. A listener will most likely be disappointed in the poor mastering of these hits. The majority of the songs sounded "muted" and "hollow" no matter what CD player was used. However, it's still Ronnie, so it's not a complete waste of money!

Though there are not as many songs on this CD as I would like, these are truly great songs by a great entertainer and singer. These songs capture the whole spirit of Ronnie Milsap's music and his extraordinary talent. I recently saw him in concert and it was excellent. Those who say the mastering of this CD is not good, well, I just don't get it. I think it's wonderful. This is great music by a great artist. I recommend it highly.

It's true, there could be more on this CD. . . but it's still Ronnie Milsap, one of the greatest country legends of all time. Plus, he's from North Carolina. . . what's not to like?

I bought this CD thinking it was that same as my record. The cover is deceiving; it has the same cover but three tracks are missing. What a disappointment especially since "Let's Take the Long Way Around the World" is not included. Only 9 tracks included not the original 12. I felt slightly ripped off.

If I were to select a song from Ronnie Milsap's Greatest Hits, it would be What A Difference You Made in My Life! It's a very special song. I like the style of the song. To me this is my favorite thing about Ronnie's Greatest Hits!

This is my all-time favorite Ronnie Milsap album/compilation; I fell asleep to his music when I was little! Happy 66th birthday, Ronnie! The tracks on the cassete are my favorites by him. It's the only release with less tracks I've heard that's better than the original, and I've heard that one too! It Was Almost Like A Song and Smoky Mountain Rain are immediate highlights. Listen up. Ignore any negative comments you see, buy it, and decide for yourself. Also, I'm also pleased by the fact that it's among his best sellers; it went 2x platinum here in America, and single platinum in Canada. Again, pay no attention to the bad comments they put down and grab one anyway; you'll be surprised by the results(maybe)!

The Compact Disc put out by Ronnie Milsap entitled Greatest Hits arrived at our home in a timely manner and was in good shape.
