This review is from: Roof Repair Convertible Car Soft Top Patch - Tear Aid 6" x 12" Patch A (Misc.)
I recently purchased a 2001 Miata with a torn roof. This patch is the way to go and the instruction sheet from Empire Toy was very helpful. Make sure you plan out how you want to apply the patch. It's VERY sticky and bonds instantly. I can't believe I fixed my convertible for so cheap and you can't even see the patch (it's clear/transparent). I even had some patch left over! Do not hesitate to buy this product. It will probably fix just about anything you have. It's incredibly sticky and doesn't gum up. Thanks Empire Toy!

roof repair,
This review is from: Roof Repair Convertible Car Soft Top Patch - Tear Aid 6" x 12" Patch A (Misc.)
I used the type A patch repair on my mazda vinly roof and it seemed to work. but then the weather warmed up to 85 degrees and the patch got loose because the glue started to flow. the patch instructions list 2 types of patches, A and B. The directions for B claim "type B has a new adhesive that resists the oils in vinly that cause other adhesives to soften and turn gummy in sunlight." I ordered type B, and it works on vinyl. A does not!

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Roof Repair Convertible Car Soft Top Patch - Tear Aid 6" x 12" Patch A (Misc.)
Ordered the Tear Aid about 1 month ago. I thought it was very reasonably priced and arrived in less than a week. Purchased to use it on several tears on a Miata convertible top. Appreciated another review about carefully planning placement since the material is very sticky. I did that, and applied patches to both sides fairly easily. Cutting material with X-acto knife on self-healing mat worked well. Rounded corners by cutting around a coin placed at corners. Burnished patch material down well per instructions - which were simple and easy to understand. So far, patch is staying down well. We've had a little heat and a little rain. The test will be 6 months from now, if it's still holding strong. But assuming it will - great patching material at a reasonable price.
