This review is from: The Rook Trilogy: Includes: The Last of the Sky Pirates, Vox & Freeglader (Edge Chronicles) (Hardcover)
I own the Edge Chronicles series, and bought this for my 27 year old son. I was surprised and happy to see each trilogy printed in a single bound volume.

I am 48 and love these books. I have never been much of a casual reader, but when my wife found these I was hooked. Although intended for younger audiences they certainly are a great read for adults. The story lines are always exciting and adventurous. Character development is superb with fantastic creatures and locations illustrated by Chris Riddell coloring the background. I was impressed with the level of vocabulary used, outstanding. Mr. Stewart is not allowing children (nor adults) to be coddled here.

Freeglader is one of my all time favorites in the Rook trilogy. The battle scene had me raising my hand and shouting YES! I cannot say enough about these books. The last in the series is The Immortals and I will say I shed a tear as I read the last words of the last page. It was if I had said goodbye to some old and beloved friends. But the great thing about books - you can always go back and visit anytime.

Buy these for yourself or your kids you will not be disappointed.
