A Great Summer Read,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Rookie (The Taylor Clan) (Mass Market Paperback)
I enjoyed this book very much. The woman in the book is a college professor and very pregnant. She falls for her "student" who is really an undercover cop. Still, she doesn't know and the moral dilema is interesting. The cop finds her extremely sexy and attractive which is a switch from the normal slim, leggy, perfect females in most of these romance books. In any case, I recommend it. It is a quick read and not educational in the least- but fun!

Josh Taylor is known as the charmer of the Taylor Clan. He must try extra hard in order to make a name for himself without the help of his family name. He meets Professor Rachel Livesay while working undercover as a college student to find the distributors of drugs. Rachel has just started receiving threats towards her unborn child who is formed with the help of an anonymous sperm donor. Josh and Rachel become connected in more than one way as a result of their Professor-Student relationship as well as Josh's undercover work.Their encounters went a little beyond the typical student-professor relationship which made me doubtful at times but viewed as a basic human to human relationship it was realistic. I didn't feel that Josh's charm was used to the extent or in the way I thought it would be, but his protectiveness and caring towards Rachel and her thoughts and feelings towards Josh made a very nice romance. The descriptions of Rachel's feelings as a mother and her experiences with the movements of the baby were described so well and were written beautifully. What made some of these moments even sweeter was how Josh was included in many of them and left him in awe. Enjoyable Read! |
