I've only heard one song before I copped this album with Ya'Boy on it, and I was impressed and saw this pretty cheap (I would have gotten it earlier if I knew he ahad an album out), and I was highy impressed. The young San Francisco, CA native drops straight heat on this album. With 20 songs you get alot of material so I was skeptical there would be some filler tracks, but of the 20, 2 are almost classics, 4 are ok, the other 14 are good, the majority being real good. Guests are a little heavy, on a little over half the songs, but with 20 songs, you still get a lot of Ya' Boy. Production is nice as well, and mostly from people I'm not real familiar with. Davey D & J-moe, Droop-E, and King Cydal all do 3 songs, Sean T does 2, Rick Rock, Cozmo,, Rob Lo, Mater, Cello, Keez, Razor, Rashaad Wiggins, Tony Butcha all do 1 song. A must have album and nice to hear some new fire coming out of the Bay Area.#1 - 9 (tight beat) #2 - 8.5 (nice beat) #3 - 7 (f/ E-40 & Turf Talk) #4 - 8 (f/ Selau) #5 - 9 (nice beat) #6 - 8 (f/ Clyde Carson) #7 - 8.5 (f/ Messy Marv -- nice beat) #8 - 9.5 (f/ Bailey -- tight beat) #9 - 8 #10 - 8.5 #11 - 8.5 (good beat) #12 - 7.5 (f/ San Quinn) #13 - 8.5 (nice beat) #14 - 7 (f/ Big Rich) #15 - 8 (f/ AP9 & San Quinn) #16 - 9 (nice beat) #17 - 6.5 (f/ Joy) #18 - 8 (f/ Blue Chip) #19 - 9.5 (f/ Roscoe -- tight beat) #20 - 7 (f/ Goldie, Boo Banger, R-Geezy, Infamous JD) Check all my reviews

Very underrated in my opinion. Ya boy (delivery wise) is one of the best in the bay area right now.

The Production is off da rictor n Ya Boy spits fire on every track. His producer did a really good job and comin from Frisco he represents Fillmoe to da fullest. He has hella sicc guest appearances by da Ambassdor of the Bay E-Fonzarelli, Turf Talk, Messy Marv, Bailey, his cuzin San Quinn, AP.9, Clyde Carson, and a whole lot more. Cop it and support your local artist. Da Yay Area is now getting more recognition thanks to 106 KMEL n WILD 94.9. Read Murder Dog Magazine and you'll get an inside scoop of what's hot out in da yay area, L.a., Midwest, n da dirty south. Forget da ladies and girls dat u see on BET and MTV especially those gggggGAY-unit.Back to da review, this isn't your i-made-it-in-my-basement production. This is Treal production at its best and you can find it throughout the whole album. Frisco's been on da Grind ever since those RBL Posse ruthless by law Dayz!!! R.I.P. Mr. Cee and Mac Dre!!!! |
