Book Description

November 1, 1998
Rookie's Guide to Creating WebSites is the only book of its kind available specifically for those interested in creating and maintaining their own law enforcement related WebSite. Whether you are planning a professional WebSite for your agency, a personal home page, or a page with a law enforcement theme, this is the only book you will need. It even comes with a CD that contains most of the software that you will need to create your site. Although this book was written with a law enforcement theme, it could easily be used to create any other variety of WebSite.

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

This is the third book that Larry Wilson has written about Law Enforcement and the World Wide Web. His first two books "Law Enforcement Links" (first & second edition) were extremely popular with law enforcement agencies around the world and completely sold out.

From the Author

As a police officer and Internet enthusiast I have been fortunate enough to be able to combine my two passions into one project. The World Wide Web can be an extremely powerful tool for law enforcement. There are literally thousands of law enforcement sites currently on the Web. They range from police department home pages, crime statistics, drug enforcement, most wanted sites, to sex offender registries. This however only represents a very small sample of those that could be using it. It is my goal to get as many law enforcement agencies onto the Web as possible. I believe "Rookie's Guide to Creating WebSites" can make a large contribution. It was written for people with little or no experience creating WebSites and demostrates how to create a WebSite with little or no money.

This review is from: Rookie's Guide to Creating WebSites (Paperback)
This book is one of the most comprehensive "how to" books on web site creations that I have read. Not only does it teach you how to create a web site, it also makes an extra effort of telling you how you can benefit from the little extras that make a good web site a great web site, and where you can find them. The extensive use of graphics in the book is an added benefit for those who want to know what their product should look like. Specific items are easy to locate and the book is well laid out. The added cd-rom is a bonus. Although written with Law Enforcement agencies in mind, every person or business can benefit from its contents.
