Vallhonrat has photographed gigantic beds with curved, gilded and padded headboards, one even illuminated by a faux sun. Everywhere there is satin and brocade, pleated, folded, frilled. Imitating the salons of the aristocracy, these constructed boudoirs epitomise a corporate notion of desire, imagination tightly refined by profit and turnover. One photo to a spread enables maximum chintz visibility. Also features a biography and an essay by Val Williams titled: 'Paradise Compromised'.
