"British rock & folk music spanning four decades", November 14, 2000
This review is from: A Room For Romeo Brass (2000 Film) (Audio CD)
Milan Records presents an eclectic array of music, strongly rooted in the classic folk-rock genre, showcase various sub-genres like modern rock, blues, soul and even ska, on their latest soundtrack release - "A Room for Romeo Brass".
The film features some great music as evidenced in the album's opening track "A MESSAGE TO YOU, RUDY" by new wave pioneers The Specials. A few stand outs - "GOING DOWN" featuring The Stone Roses, briefly a British sensation in the late '80s and early '90s, but returning to the '60s psychedelic era, superstar Donovan's classic single "COLOURS" plays and mixes well on this soundtrack...but less we forget Eddie Harris jazzy instrumental "LISTEN HERE", and the soulful "EVERYTHING'S GONNA BE ALRIGHT" performed by California-born P.P. Arnold, a former backup singer for Ike and Tina Turner.
Milan has given us a well-rounded compilation soundtrack spanning four decades, some songs never before available, but are timeless!
Total Time: 49:50 on 12 Tracks...Milan Records 35919...(2000)
