Now easily accessible for the first time in decades, _Room Service_ strikes me as a rather decent album that does not wear its dated decade on its sleeve. The thing that surprises me the most is that if you close your eyes, you'd swear, on songs such as "Only Because Of Love" and "Heaven In Your Eyes" you were listening to Boy George (which is not a bad thing, I'd like to say. I always thought B.G. had a nice voice).

As so often happens when you return without biased ears to the sounds of what you loved most in the midst of your biggest teen idol crushes, I found that the song I thought was oh so dark and edgy ("You're Usin' Me") is actually the one that now is a victim of its own time. All the other tracks can pretty much hold their own, but this one just screams, "I am not the Shaun Cassidy who rips his pants every time he performs live. I want to be taken seriously."

I think what I have loved most about rediscovering Shaun Cassidy's albums (available since May 1st through Amazon) is that most of what I loved so much (especially on his earlier self-titled album with the likes of "That's Rock 'n Roll" and "It's Too Late") is actually still quite good.

Yes, I am showing my age here, but I simply LOVE LOVE LOVE Shaun Cassidy, I have every vinyl album from Shaun from back in the late 70's! Then I had every cassette of his, then of course when CD's came around I got every one of them. Now I have them on mp3 for my iPod! :-)

Excellent album!

I never fell for teen idols when appropriate but I am now crazy for Shaun's music. It is fun touching and his heavenly baritone makes every song go strait to my heart. In the last month I have purchased every album he made. His music has not aged. The songs I like best are the ones never heard on a radio. I know he is a successful writer/producer but I love for him to do a new album
