I loved theis series as a teen,
This review is from: Roommates (Girls of Canby Hall) (Paperback)
I fell inlove with THE GIRLS OF CANABY HALL and had the entire series I think there were at least 35 in the series. They were true friends who shared ups and downs but always stuck together. Sadly this series really can't be found anymore, so girls today won't be exposed to this heartfelt and delightful series. I senselessly let my series go years ago and regret it all the time that I no longer have it. TGOCH will always have a special place in my heart.

I loved these books when I was a teen. I read them all probably several times over! Unfortunately they were lost in my parents divorce and I'm looking for a set for my daughter to read in a couple years when she's 11-12.

This book is pretty good. I found it at the library and was instantly hooked after I finished. It's about 3 roommates --Dana-independent city girl, Faith-determined and practical, and Shelley-naive, small town girl-- and their great adventures as they start boarding school. Now I'm looking for more since the series is out of print.

THe Canby Hall Girls,
This review is from: Roommates (Girls of Canby Hall) (Paperback)
What a strange combonation of girls.
Dana the New Yorker is high on style she is not spoiled. She's energetic. She meets a guy named Bret. According to everyone, he is the heart breaker king. Everyone was right. Faith is a photographer. She's black and doesn't like the fact that the blonde girl is staring at her because of that. Faith makes a friend who turns out to be a mess. Shelly was the smalltown girl. She suspects her parents sent her to this school because they think she is overly attached with her boyfriend. (Which is true.) Shelley suffers from hometown and wants to be hometown. They are all in their sophomore year of high school (not college) but it's their first time in boarding school. They find themselves and it's a good book. |
