Crucial information that has been hidden for too long!,
By jaytee@aa.net (Seattle, WA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Root Canal Cover-Up (Paperback)
For anyone suffering from chronic/degenerative disease, this reading is a must. Writen by George E. Meinig, D.D.S., F.A.C.D., one of the founding members who started the American Association of Endontists (Root Canal Therapists), the 25 years of root canal research by Dr. Weston Price is finally made public. Thorough coverage of this valuable research, as well as the reasons for its cover-up are made known. Dr. Meinig explains how bacterial infections and the toxins they emit travel from the dentin in the root filled tooth to other parts of the body, causing systemic focal infections. These infections may also originate from gum infections, infected tonsils or tonsil tags, and tooth pocket infections resulting from extractions. Many body organs and systems have been associated with focal infection from root canal bacteria. Many case histories are presented. Some of the ones covered are heart and circulatory, bladder, kidneys, ovaries, testicles, and arthritis. The book is written for the lay person to read with a minimum of technical jargon. Many photographs are also included.

This book is GOOD SCIENCE,
By A Customer
This review is from: Root Canal Cover-Up (Paperback)
Unlike the second reviewer from Boston, who from his comments exposes the fact that he/she probably only glanced through the book without reading it carefully, I think this book is a GREAT SCIENTIFIC ADVANCE. The millions of bacteria living in dental tubules of a root canal treated dead tooth (the tooth without living roots is dead since it has no blood supply) do not cause any external pain symptoms. These bacteria get no oxygen (since blood is absent) and so their adapted metabolism produces very harmful toxins continuously damaging important organs of the body. I would suggest this reviewer to read some politics behind how the dental associations were created in order to eliminate any responsibility dentists had for protecting human body versus protecting dead teeth. Most dentists are trained and paid to be teeth savers and somewhat innocently end up becoming body killers. They don't know what they are doing, just like the pawns of any systematic hierarchy where the leadership defines the agenda, and makes the pawns serve its interests. The words "Science" and "Prophecy" are much abused by the establishment in order to spread fear among the curious population. I found no prophecies in this book. I only found good, responsible, and non-political Science at its best. And finally, I am no high school drop-out inventing conspiracy theories. I have a Ph.D. in my field and I have investigated the dental profession by reading many journal articles, lawsuit information, and books.

Root Canal - Health Problems - Read This Book!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Root Canal Cover-Up (Paperback)
I thought root canals were routine, until I lost my health. Dr. Meinig's book came out, after I had been battling health problems for 3 years. Doctors would not believe me, when I told them that I thought the root canal was my problem. Dr. Meinig's book showed evidence that it very well could be. Anyone who has a root canal or has been told that they need one, should read this book and be made aware of the dangers. I for one am very grateful to Dr. Meinig for making this information available to the public. Because of the information that was made available, I had the tooth pulled and my health improved tremendously.

Root Canal Causing Concern,
By Consumer Advocate (California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Root Canal Cover-Up (Paperback)
First, I would like to address Dr. Paul's review discrediting this book and research. I would be interested in knowing his true knowledge of toxins leaching into the body as most doctors don't bother to learn what drugs and various treatments can do to the body in the long run. My sister is a doctor and even she admits this. A doctor needs to take the initiative outside his regular schooling to educate him/herself. This book is great information in deciding what one should do about teeth. To go even deeper everyone should read Dr. Weston Price's book that gives an expansive outlook on how what we put into our mouths can deliver bad teeth and health problems. I am not discrediting Dr. Paul or any other doctor for their schooling, practice, etc yet stating that research and testimonials are showing the truth for many. Also keep in mind that every BODY is built differently. Just like a drink of alcohol effects one person to another differently, so can these toxins.
I had to have a root canal last year due to my tooth being knocked out. I was confused last year why I would always wake up to a scatchy throat. I examined my environment, air etc. I am a health advocate with daily reading / research. I kept in mind my tooth could be the problem. It came to conculsion when just last month my root canaled tooth came loose and IMMEDIATELY that scratchy sore throat feeling came into play when the tooth was removed. I am convinced this tooth is causing problems. I am currently looking into this more. Also note all the research and evidence of health IMPROVEMENTS upon removing Mercury filled teeth!!! Again, the mercury will affect each person differently. Many people have come forward with severe health issues and once the mercury was removed from their teeth dramatic improvement occured in their health. WAKE UP! These are TRUTH. It amazes me when I see doctors say that instances like this just aren't enough evidence. It isn't going to be truth for all but obviously for some or many. Certainly a consideration and possible cure for one's health. Open up! What cures one may not cure another!!! Each BODY responds differently. I want to express that I am happy to live in a time when we have so many more choices and evidence of research. I appreciate many doctors but I feel Dr. Paul's review is closed minded. Read this book and Dr. Weston Price's book to help educate yourself and in making your own decision.

Multitude of Health problems traced back to Root Canal!,
By Jen Sylvester Fontenot (Southwest Louisiana, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Root Canal Cover-Up (Paperback)
I stumbled on the site when trying to figure out why I was still having pain from a root canal I had this week. And was incredulous when I realized the complete deterioation of my health started with a root canal 3 years ago. Since then I have diagnosed with a host of rare autoimmune disorders, systemic infections, neurological disorders, tumors, abscesses, with no end in sight. 3 years ago, I was healthy.
The theories represented by George Meining, DDS, on the dangers of root canal therapy, is extremely interesting. The logic, research and documentation supporting his perspectives is compelling. It is almost too simple not to have been given significant consideration by health care professionals and diagnositics decades ago. I enjoyed 20+ years of decay free checkups, due to what I considered my vigilant bi-annual teeth cleanings. Then in 2003, I had 5 cavities. In 2004, I needed crowns on 4 teeth. In 2005, all 4 of these crowned teeth required root canals. Finally, in Jun 2006, after a simple dental procedure, I began experiencing severe pain. For 7 days, I called my dentist daily and then started going to his office telling him the pain was excruciating and to do something to make it stop. He had X-rayed the tooth prior to the procedure the previous Wednesday, and said the tooth was fine. And in fact it did "Look" okay. There was no swelling, the gums weren't red, yet the pain was unbearable. Then as suddenly as it started, the pain stopped. I looked in the mirror and the left side of my face was so swollen I could barely see out of my left eye. Two hours later, I was being X-rayed by Dr Tony Rainwater, an Endodontist, (and a really great guy). He said I had a really bad abscess at the root of my tooth, which had eaten through the bone, and the infection was now spreading through my face. I was deathly ill for weeks, while I was treated with antibiotics and steroids. After 4 weeks, the infection had cleared up enough for him to perform a 2nd Root Canal. My regular dentist had missed a chamber during the first root canal a few months earlier, and the remaining pulp had become infected. I never fully recovered. For the next 8 months, I began contracting one infection after another. Each one more severe and lasting longer than the one before. Until finally, I collapsed in the office of my family physcian. X-Rays showed double Pneumonia and a nasal swab indicated the flu (the second time in 4 months). I was hospitalized for 5 weeks. When one infection cleared, I'd go home a couple of days and then be rushed back with increasingly more serious and contagious infections. I was finally put in isolation after testing positive for VRE and MIRSA. On June 1, 2007, exactly one year, after the infamous Root Canal, I was diagnosed with Common Variable Immune Deficiency. Dr Elizabeth Borrero, my Infectious Disease doctor, said adult onset IgM Immune Deficiency was extremely rare. And in her 20 year career she had never seen nor read of it. It runs in families and is usually diagnosed before the age of 5, I was 53 years old at diagnosis. Now today, three years after the first abscess and four days after a 5th Root Canal, I am reading an article with seemingly "valid documentation of systemic illnesses resulting from latent infections lingering in filled roots." I was a founding officer with an executive level position, in a bank that I loved and had helped build into a $1 billion dollar franchise over a 22 year period. I was now too sick to work and ended up taking early retirement to try to focus on my health. I have been taking IVIG treatments every two weeks for the past 30 months. The treatments are expensive, time consuming, and have debilitating side effects. But they have been successful at reducing the number of infections I get, their frequency and severity. And most importantly they have significantly reduced the number of hospital stays each year. But, I am still plagued with a host of infections and autoimmune diseases. During the past 12 months alone, I was rushed to the Emergency Room with breathing difficulties. A CT Scan revealed two six-centimeter pulmonary masses. A Biopsy performed by a Thoracic Surgeon diagnosed the masses as Sarcoidosis, which is treatable with steroids. Unfortunately, I cannot take steroids, since being diagnosed with Diabetes the previous year. My Infectious Disease doctor, refered my to a Neurologist for EMG and Nerve Conduction Testing, after I complained that I suffered at night with extreme pain in both legs and that I was losing the feeling in my right foot. The test results were abnormal and given a diagnosis of Diffuse Sensory and Motor Polyneuropathy. For 52 years, I had enjoyed a full and active life. I've been married to my collage sweetheart for 35 years, we've raised 3 beautiful children and have begun reaping the rewards of grandchildren. We traveled, camped, cooked, entertained, worked, gardened, hunted, fished and read. Today, I am not well enough to drive, do my own grocery shopping, or even take a walk. Most of my outings are for medical treatments or testing. I've become a mere spectator of the life that was once lived large. [EXCERPT] "All of the "building up" done to try to enhance the patient's ability to fight infections -to strengthen their immune system - is only a holding action. Many patients won't be well until the source of infection - the root canal tooth - is removed." It is almost unimaginable that the horrors I've endured these past three years, could have been prevented, by simply pulling a tooth instead of having a root canal. I have forwarded this research to my Infectious Disease doctor, to discuss at my next appointment. Dental Schools should be held accountable. Instead of teaching the young dentists of today and tomorrow to be mere technicians who work to save dead teeth, they should aspire to educate these young professionals that they are "Healers" and that they are their patients first line of defense. The decisions they make in developing a treatment plan for their patients can either enrich or greatly diminish the lives and future health of their patients Case Studies, should be reported, and fed to the media. Hopefully, armed with this information, and the help of an enlightend Endodontist, I can one day, be a success story that may save another wife, mother, or daughter from becoming a spectator instead of a participant in their own lives.

EVERYONE needs to read this book,

This review is from: Root Canal Cover Up (Paperback)
Certainly, anyone with root canals in their mouths, or anyone contemplating getting a root canal needs to read this book. But prepare yourself: You may never trust your dentist again.
On the other hand, you may discover the cause of your "mysterious" illness, and learn how to cure it. Meinig explains why root canals cause so many puzzling illnesses, and how removing your root-canaled teeth may cure those same illnesses. To put it concisely: ALL root canaled teeth are infected. And the very nasty bacteria causing those infections migrate to other parts of the body causing everything from cancer to multiple sclerosis. If you don't believe me, read the book and study the extensive documentation. Meinig is not making this stuff up. He used to not only be an endodontist (a dentist specializing in root canals), but he helped found the American Association of Endodontists. To his great credit, Dr. Meinig had an open enough mind to let in information contrary to what he had been taught. He has thoroughly researched this information, not only convincing himself of the damage caused by root canals, but compelling him to write this book for us. But, if you decide to have your root-canaled teeth pulled after studying this book, know that only a properly-educated dentist will know how to extract the root-canaled teeth so that the infection is entirely eradicated. I recommend you contact any one (or all) of the following organizations for a list of qualified dentists in your area: Huggins Applied Healing -- 866-948-4638 The Environmental Dental Association -- 800-388-8124 The International Academy of Biological Dentistry and Medicine -- iabdm.org talkinternational.com The dental schools and the American Dental Association do not have your best interests at heart. They have been causing illness, suffering, and death by refusing to acknowledge the damage done by conventional dental practices. Unfortunately, we therefore must educate ourselves. I recommend starting with this book and Robert Kulacz's excellent book, "The Roots of Disease." Your research may cause you cynicism and even anger when you learn what our dentists have been doing to us all these years -- and how much it will cost to UN-do their damage -- but take heart knowing that at least the damage CAN be un-done. I wish you good luck and good healing.

IATROGENISIS AT ITS PINNACLE !,
By Nemo (United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Root Canal Cover-Up (Paperback)
Dr. Meinig's book is first rate in all respects. This information was first brought to light by the genius of Dr. G.V. Black, the dean of the dept. of oral surgery at Northwestern University in Chicago. Dr. Black fully disclosed the conditions that occur involving osteonecrosis of the maxillary and mandibular bones as well as the treatment protocalls needed to correct them in one of his many textbooks titled "A Special Dental Pathology". Black is still touted as the "Father of Modern Dentistry", and many of his texts are still used to this day. The interesting thing is that this work was done in 1915 ! Good doctors such as Black, and Dr. Weston Price, as well as others performed a great deal of excellent and invaluable research work many years ago that should have, and still can save mankind from a myraid of suffering and misdiagosed, mistreated maladies that can often become life threatening. Many actually expire from conditions that began as a result of the irresponsible endodontic, and general improperly performed dental procedures that we all fall victim to by trusting our dental proffesionals. Dr.Rosenow from the Mayo clinic postulated on the "Focal Infection Theory" over half a decade ago that dealt with this situation and his great work has been laid aside as well. I believe our dentists need to take a long hard look in the mirror and ask themselves how many lives they have destroyed. Its time for a major change in the way dentistry is performed in our country. We the people must become informed and educated so we can prevent these abuses by our "trusted" dentists. By all means, buy, and read Georges excellent book, learn all you can about your health and find an open minded, honest, dentist who is willing to "LEARN" to do things properly. YOU, are the final authority regarding your health. Don't forfeit that right by trusting an uninformed, greedy dental person. I nearly died doing so, and will suffer the rest of my life as a result. The Endodontic Society has a great deal of "Flawed" statistics that they have absolutely no back-up research to support.

Beware of 'experts' and authorities,
By
This review is from: Root Canal Cover-Up (Paperback)
Root canals are a garbage technique. They cause hidden problems that develop into chronic and systemic diseases. Dentists and the pseudo-experts posting comments here criticizing Dr. Meinig for using 'pre-WWII' research and century old information need to wake up. Question: What do you think root canal therapy is? It's a hundred year old therapy that was first proven dangerous by Dr. Weston Price - the then head of research for the American Dental Association.
The science of root canals is just plain bad - you are hollowing out a bone (the tooth) and (supposedly) 'sterilizing' it, stuffing it, and then capping it off to look pretty. This is insane. It is a dead, hollowed-out tooth. Of course micro-circulation around the root-canaled tooth is compromised and will wind up a breeding ground for anaerobic bacteria and blood stasis. 10 years ago, 3 different dentists told my wife that her root canal was fine. They all just wanted to change the cap. But I knew something was wrong because my wife had chronic eye socket headaches right over the root canal, as well as neuralgia in the arm on that side. She used to just lay there and cry at night. So I kept searching for the answers. I then met a scientist who broke down for me what happens when you root canal a tooth and the almost certain long term effects and complications. On his advice, I then went to biological dentist (who some of these mainstream dentists are on here attacking and unjustly bashing). This dentist saw something different on the X-rays than the other 3 dentists we talked to. We opted to pull the tooth and sure enough, sitting right there on the tip of the tooth was a cyst about the size of a BB. It had been pressing on the nerves and causing the headaches. I know for a fact that the root canal was the problem because since the extraction, the headaches and arm neuralgia disappeared and never returned. After months of pain and worry, things literally cleared up within a week and have never returned in 10 years. Since that time, I became a Licensed Acupuncturist and have referred many patients to biological (or holistic) dentists to remove poisonous mercury amalgam fillings and bad root canals. Each time the results were extraordinary. One older woman, the mother of a good friend, had been greatly degenerating with rheumatoid arthritis. I found that one of her root canals reflexed very strongly with autonomic reflex testing. I told my friend to take her to the dentist to have it extracted. At first, he was very skeptical, but due to desperation, he gave in and took his mother to the dentist, who confirmed my finding and pulled the tooth. He told me afterwards that it was the most disgusting thing he had ever seen. The tooth root was black and it stunk so bad that he had to flee the room. His mother's rheumatoid arthritis then started stabilizing and improved. I can go on telling story after story like this. So 'Dr Paul' and the other dentists and 'experts' on here can go on and on telling us how great root canals are, but there exists a very different reality in the world of chronic disease and pain patients. These are the patients I see every day and almost invariably the seriousness of their conditions correlate with the number of mercury amalgam fillings and root canals they have. I have seen patient after patient improve after having holistic/biological dental restorations done when other treatments and strategies failed or got stuck. Every profession has hard-headed people, but in the medical professions it seems the worst. Even in the field of acupuncture, we have many practitioners who get very dogmatic with styles and theories and can't admit that their patients aren't getting better. Dentistry right now, as practiced by mainstream dentists in the United States, is one of the most dangerous medical interventions around. The ADA is still fighting to not admit that Mercury is toxic (when European countries have banned its use). And they are still pretending that root canals are safe. They are not and this book gives you important research and facts that have been ignored by the ADA and therefore most dentists for the past 100 years.

Staggering Implications,
By P. J. Sullivan (Northern California USA) - See all my reviews

This review is from: Root Canal Cover Up (Paperback)
This is a very important book. Its implications are staggering, in terms of human suffering and public health. Unless science learns how to sterilize bacteria inside dentin tubules, effectively and permanently, dead teeth will undermine systemic health. Because antibiotics cannot get in but toxins can get out.
Prevention therefore is the answer. The author discusses how to prevent tooth decay and explains why fluoride is not the answer. He discusses periodontal disease, its pH, and its relation to whole-body conditions. For readers who are beyond prevention, he mentions jawbone cavitations, how to locate and treat them, and offers a short and simple protocol for dentists to follow in extracting teeth. Dr. Weston Price deserved a Nobel prize. Instead, his work was shamefully covered up. For those who demand proof, his results are easily reproducible, but they are not refutable.

FACTS TELL.....It was true for me!,

This review is from: Root Canal Cover-Up (Paperback)
This book got me on the road to recovery. I had told my dentist, don't ever tell me I need a root canal! But I needed one. Within 3 months, my right knee started throbbing and aching with what seemed to be arthritis. My mother has arthritic knees, so I thought it was just in the genes. But my knee pain was rather sudden and I am a very, very healthy eater with no pain anywhere, so I was a little stumped as to why it started so suddenly. It got worse, to the point of disrupting my sleep and making me walk with a limp. My holistic dentist recommended this book. I was shocked at the details of what could be happening inside all of these root canaled teeth! WOW~ good science here... I made the decision to get my root canals pulled after speaking with other people about their experiences. It was a hard decision, but the right one. Within a few weeks, my constant, horrible knee pain was gone. That was two years ago, and the knee pain has not returned EVER. I'm convinced, based on my own experience, that my root canals caused my debilitating knee pain and though most doctors would roll their eyes at this idea, it proved true for me. This book has information you will NOT get at your dentist office!
