Everything contained in this ebook is available elsewhere for free. I gleaned not one useful fact. Shoulda kept my $2.99. Dissapointed!

This book explains what you should think about before building your root cellar, basic principles for heating/cooling and what to consider before developing your design. It explains some pitfalls and precautions to take. It doesn't contain any diagrams, just comments on building techniques. I found it a good introduction and it gave me plenty of ideas for further research. The building suggestions weren't old information to me; I don't work in construction nor have I built any kind of root cellar or shed before. I think if you have a lot of projects behind you this might be too simplistic; it suited what I needed exactly. You will need to consult some other book to develop your actual building plan unless you are like me and like to rough things out on paper then get more advice from experienced DIY folks. I liked the friendly writing style and the emphasis on eating locally also. I feel I got my money's worth. It was like listening to a neighbor's friendly advice to a newbie at DIY.

This is a good starting point and a quick read. I wish it had actual information about how to layout the interior. I was also hoping for info on how to store things in the cellar. There is a link for some addtional storage info. Maybe that will answer my questions. This book lacks info on how to update an old cellar or use a basement. The book is well written and not a waste of time.

I thought that this was a pretty good book, although it doesn't really go into any detail. It would be nice to have some basic plans to build it, more than one design, and details about each fruit/vegetable, instead of just putting links.

Everything you need to know about root cellars and how to build one.
There are so many good reasons to have a root cellar for storage, that I was surprised to learn there are things you don't want to store in one.
This is a good book to read, even if you don't live in a situation that allows you to build one..... you'll learn lots of things about the principles of storage and food preservation in root cellars.
