This review is from: Root of Passion (Paperback)
Roots of Passion by Ann Roberts
'Grace's obsession with work could cost a life, all right, and her friend Margo thinks the life lost could be Grace's. She unveils a treasured secret - potion she acquired in South America that could change Grace's outlook on life ... at least for one night. The surgeon in Grace know a fake when she sees it. To her surprise, however, the woman within is intrigued. What if it really works? If she let herself go, just once, would that allow her to return to work, free of the increasing distraction that Dina represents? When an attractive stranger offers a wild trip to Las Vegas, the choice is clear. Should she or shouldn't she? Long used to saying 'no', Grace is shocked to realize how much she wants to say 'yes'. (Portion of summary on back cover.) I liked this book. I liked the uptight Grace finding a way to let go and live a little which is so contrary to her responsible nature. I wouldn't exactly call it 'fluff' but there's no hard thinking involved here, just a great little trip through my own id, wishing I had some magical potion myself. Due to the 4-way the hot meter on this was up there, a 10; on the love meter it was a 7. **Remember - if you want your favorite authors to keep writing for us they have to be able to earn a living doing it. If at all possible try to buy the book NEW. I know it sucks but if you're not going to keep it in your collection put it in the recycle bin to make another book.** |
