5.0 out of 5 stars Much improved remastering of old classics May 11, 2010
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
I am one of the fortunate few to have seen and heard Paul Robeson in person. Once at my church in 1954 and once in Carnegie Hall in 1958. His recordings never did justice to the magnificence of his voice. I have all of these very same recordings from previous releases in my CD collection. I have played them all, side by side with this product and this recording is far superior to all of them. There is more resonance, more highs, more lows; it's quite unbelievable. Whoever did the remastering, job very well done. Thank you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sideways Misunderstood December 20, 2012
By Janor
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
My wife and her best girlfriend hated Sideways! I loved it. They could not buy into the saving grace of this film's ending. OK, a guy - Miles - is once again seen as the outrageous male loser and more, but on this pathway in search of ambrosia (the finest wines) where he does fall far and looks mostly pathetic - especially with his sidekick Jack magnifying the male species' worst, most deplorable traits - he comes to see the awful reality of his own persona and having lost Maya does at the end trudge to her door hopefully ready to profit from what he's seen and done. He has had a revelation. And, Maya's door is painted blue which symbolizes the positive, and maybe some happiness, and such....all of which suggests Miles can make it as a decent person. He's got a shot at it, knows the errors of his ways, and realizes Maya is maybe the ambrosia that's truly important.
