Review

In Roots of Healing, prominent health care leaders address the future of the medical community and different approaches to enhancing the healing process, from handling life-threatening illnesses to considering whole-body/mind health. This discourse on healing takes the form of interview dialogues between health care professions, who cite personal experience, historical precedent, and professional insights on healing concerns. -- Midwest Book Review --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

From AudioFile

This three-part series addresses the future of health care. Authorities consulted include Bernie Siegel and Deepak Chopra. The first part focuses on doctors and patients, the second part discusses life-threatening illnesses. The third part covers healing practices from around the world. Topics are covered through interviews and conversations with more than twenty health care professionals. Chopra is particularly engaging. Several of the speakers refer to multicultural medicine and the effect of community, citing findings to support their beliefs. Discussions of the power of feelings and problems with the current medical system are also included. E.L.C. (c)AudioFile, Portland, Maine

5.0 out of 5 stars The Roots of Spiritual Care and Spiritual Health, March 26, 2000
THE ROOTS OF HEALING is a book that explores how the nature of our soul infuses health and well-being. It is a series of questions and answers provided by leading edge thinkers who understand the power of spirit to heal. This book reminds us of our true nature. More importantly, we are reminded of the roots of healing itself - our soul. When our soul experiences well-being, the possibility for physical, psychological, social, and spiritual unity becomes an expression and extension of the unmanifest becoming manifest. Thanks to all who contributed to the future of medicine. Samuel Oliver, author of, WHAT THE DYING TEACH US: LESSONS ON LIVING.
