Book Description

June 20, 1997
A journey into medical anthropology. This profound, playful and provoctive vision of health is built from Native American philosophy and the wisdom of Jonas Salk and Albert Schweitzer. The rhythm of the heart is fundamental to individual and collective health.

"Dr. William Evans is a medical insider who clearly perceives what the medicine of the future must look like. This is a wise glimpse of the sacred, natural dimension of healing which - at long last - is returning. Well done!" Larry Dossey, MD

Editorial Reviews

Review

"The Roots of Healing are in the Earth" has a particularly important message to both patients and doctors in this age when commercialism is in direct conflict with professionalism in the doctor patient relationship. This book emphasizes the classic role of the doctor in improving the quality, as well as, the duration of life and sheds a unique perspective on how this can be achieved by reverting to the lessons of "primitive cultures." -- Ben Eiseman,MD; Emeritus Professor of Surgery and Medicine, University of Colorado Medical School at Denver

5.0 out of 5 stars sharing such profound things, August 31, 2002

This review is from: The Roots of Healing are in the Earth (Paperback)
What a courageous step to voice such truth...denied institutionally at the corporate level,
so as to not temper with profits.
I hope the book becomes a success in opening people to BEING again...without the too many choices
that then become crutches and paralysing to life...to health.
Great book!! I really enjoyed every page of it/ it was never boring, or too difficult with specialized language.
Thank you for sharing such profound things.
