The first bounty record that start it all,

This review is from: Roots Reality & Culture (Audio CD)
Roots, Reality & culture is the very lst bounty record. the album is appropiately titled because it is exactly what bounty killa focuses his mind on; the harsh realities on jamaican youth stuggling in the ghettos. Rather than flexing simplistic, sometimes tiring guns & punnany talks, he reflects on jamaican ghetto reality with a political point of view by stongly defending the poor, and why youths run their lives in violence, mayhem & struggle. Bounty reflects on this topic on the first track "roots, reality & culture" with lyrics like " de poor work harder while de rich ah get richer". Tracks like "kill fi fun" & coppershot which was bounty's first controversial single that rocketed bounty to fame, are very disturbing tales of the harsh realities in Jamaica's ghettos. Roots reality & culture contains variety of other styles like enjoyable party dacehall tracks like "girl say yes", Glamity & gumsion and Long donkey cod along with the socially concious disrespect & love is lovely. The production here on roots has a more melodic softer vibes than his latter releases which matches his deep toasting voice. Though this cd may not be as good as My Xperience, Roots is still a very solid & enjoyble cd and is a must listen for any fan of bounty or dub music. You wont be disappointed.
