strong vocals!!, June 5, 2008
This review is from: Roots & Satisfaction (Audio CD)
I first saw Laga Savea at Hawaiian waters park a few months back by accident. It was a multi stage event where everyone just wanders around until they find something they like. I noticed that around one particular stage there were more than too many people cramming in to be there for the next act. Well I figured I see what the fuss was all about. The band started playing and three gentlemen swaggered in front with microphones ready. Their voices remained idle for almost 5 minutes and then bam. Laga and crew began singing some unusally tight harmonies that seemed to fly sky high at a moments notice. That's when I was hooked and now here I am. This album more than displays Lagas talent for singing. Rich with vocals (some songs have almost non stop 3 parts) and lyrics that seem to flow endlessy from the top of a waterfall. "take Me Away" for instance manages to have what is basically a paragraph sung at different phrasings for each line resulting in a beautifully quirky verse that is unique in the fact that it truly is unique. Its hard to find any dissapointing aspects of the album, as the beats are solid, the vocals have more than an inborn sense of audacity, and the overall mood of the album leaves you smiling and humming the hooks to the songs all day long. 5 out of 5 for Laga. -collen

Laga Savea - Tight Harmonies and Sick Beats!, September 19, 2009
This review is from: Roots & Satisfaction (Audio CD)
I recently got locked into Laga Savea and his tight "Lost Coast" sound. I have to say that his beats are sick and his harmonies are even tighter! I am enjoying his tight vocals along with many other Island Music/Reggae bands. His, by far, is the BEST I have heard!!! I have searched, and am having a hard time finding anything as good as his music! Absolutely an album worth having!!!
