Check out the slow jams!!!!!,

I've been a serious "LEVERT" fan for over 10 years and this album contains their best "slow jam" material. Marc & Gerald's production on these tracks show them at the top of their game. Check out "All Season", "Baby I'm Ready", & my favorite "I've Been Waiting".

Levert Rope a Dope Style,

I have listened to the CD and find that this style is more to the younger listeners, however, I am not dissapointed at all, these artists are genuine, their voices are in accord, very well put together CD, and I can see them trying to do it solo; yes I have enjoyed it. Thank You, Alma

Great Singing in a Bad Singing Era!,
By Compton Norm (Compton , Ca) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Rope a Dope Style (Audio CD)
From their previous album we already knew they could sing, but on this album Gerald gets off! Many singers nowadays don't have distictive voices like Isaac Hayes, Teddy P., Barry White, or even the O'jays' Eddie Levert ( Gerald and Sean's dad). On "All seasons" and "Baby I'm Ready," he emerges as one of the true great singers of this generation. I have owned this since I was in high school, and now I need a new one. So I'm gladly buying it again, and you should do the same.

New Jack Swing meets 1970s R&B balladry on this great project.,

On this 1990 release, Levert fuses heavy-pounding New Jack Swing rhythms with smooth, steamy and sensuous ballads. Classic ballads like "Rain", "All Seasons", "I've Been Waiting and the big hit "Baby, I'm Ready" made this album appealing to '70s Soul fans while the uptempo dance tracks got plenty of club play...thus guaranteeing it exposure in every market. Levert was a group that always managed to sound contemporary without losing its '70s Soul roots. Enjoy!

I was jamming to this cd back in '91 and '92. Gerald had those cool, soulful vocals. I could listen to him sing all night long. My favs, "All Season", "Baby I'm Ready", "Nobody does it better" and there were a couple others I really liked like "Rope a Dope" and "Give a little Love". I had the cassette back then, now I'm going to order the cd and jam some more.
RIP Gerald and Sean! We love and miss y'all.
