This is a really good sampler, featuring jazz/acidjazz/chillout/jazzblues and a little reggae. "Dear God," "This Ain't No Russian Novel," "Evolution," "Pimp Juice" and "Rise Up" headline this diverse sampler. I'm not sure what "Cantaloupe" and "Hopeless" are doing here. Nothing jazzy about them. But otherwise, a nice mix. Thanks Amazon.

This is a sampler that works. Give away some really good music because it will lead to sales. Most of the tracks on this album are really good. The musicians are accomplished performers. The engineering is good. As a musician, I appreciate these things. Tight ensemble. Tight rhythm. Inventive melody and harmony. I get so tired of poor musicianship and crude recording being confused with sincerity (which seems to be the current vogue). Excellent songs on this album: Baboon; This Ain't No Russian Novel; Evolution; Unlocked; Pimp Juice; Hula Hula. Enjoy.

These are good cuts with current ideas included. I hear a bit of traditional jazz in here but it is definite cutting edge without being too squiggly.

I got this a couple years ago when it was a freebie, but for $8.99 this is a fine mix of assorted genres... ideal for eclectic tastes... will check out more by these artists.

...and I've downloaded many. Like other reviewers have said there a couple of songs that make you ask "hmm....which of these does not belong with the others." But that's OK, the jazzier ones are all great, and will probably lead to some real purchases in the future.

This is really 2.5 star rating! The non-jazz cuts were more of the Caribbean/Latin, folk, world, alternative, blue grass, and perhaps funk. There were six cuts that one could call jazz. Those would make this a 4-star rating. The non-jazz cuts hurt an otherwise good sampler. Excuse me there are 3 or 4 songs I need to delete from my Touch.
