Book Description

Ros honors that smart, funny, sad, put-upon, brave part of your soul that makes this world a brighter place.  A chick-lit buddy-book hybrid, Ros is a little Starman meets ET, filled with adventure, love and friendship.

Ros
When a plane crashed behind Micki Cramer's house, in San Diego, California, she kept waiting for the sirens and rescue team to show up. As the first responder, it was up to her to tug on the arm that was waving out of the broken wreckage. Holding her breath against the choking smoke, she managed to get the pilot out and carry him to safety into her backyard. He wasn't that heavy; he was about the size of her 10-year-old nephew, who did play a lot of video games and ate nothing but Flamin' Hot Cheetos, but still. As it turns out, he wasn't a guy after all.

Ros, the pilot, was on a mission to find her missing brother who had crash-landed at Roswell, New Mexico in 1947. Seems she was a bad driver, too, missing her target by nearly a thousand miles and more than half a century.

If Ros can teach Micki how to use eleven percent of her brain, how can Micki help Ros?

Editorial Reviews

Review

"4 Stars--San Diego author Dee DeTarsio's Ros is a charming, action-filled suspense novel...With the clock ticking, Ros is a delightful journey of two characters who each yearn to be better." -Examiner.com

"You'll laugh a lot when you read this book, but under the humor you'll detect a deftly written story of the redemptive power of love and friendship." --Carol K. Carr, author of India Black

I was expecting a cross between Starman and E.T. and yes, DeTarsio incorporates a touch of both stories in Ros. But mostly it's a buddy book. DeTarsio has a breezy style and command of language that's tight and rarely falters. Her ear for dialogue laced with razor sharp humor had me rolling.
--Kathleen Bolton, co-founder of Writer Unboxed

"Ms. DeTarsio is a natural storyteller. It was very easy to get wrapped up this adventure. I read Ros on Kindle and there were times I was so engrossed I would forget it was an eBook." - Girls Just Reading

"Call it action-adventure, sci-fi, a girl-buddy tale, I call it all three! But DeTarsio also enriches the story with meditations on friendship, love, loss and betrayal. And the redemptive power of simply BELIEVING in magic, and the finer aspects of our human nature." - Kiana Davenport, author of OPIUM DREAMS

About the Author

DEE DeTARSIO's literary talents shine with tenderness and humor as she takes readers into the heart of women's lives. Filled with friendship, love, loss, betrayal, and challenges that force her characters to find their place in the universe, Dee's novels give us that hopefully-ever-after we're searching for.

Dee DeTarsio is a graduate of The Ohio State University and lives in southern California with her family. (She only goes back to visit Ohio for two days in early October because she is equally scared of tornadoes and getting trapped in a snowstorm.) She did not teach herself to read at an early age or write her first story by the time she was five years old: she was still wetting the bed and playing in the can cupboard.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Treat from Dee DeTarsio October 14, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Ros is a delightful, fun and witty read. Ms. DeTarsio skillfully creates a tale with appealing main characters, Micki and Ros, who form a remarkable relationship. Ms. DeTarsio again drew me in with heroines with whom I would want to be friends. The story unfolds at a quick pace and left me fully satisfied with a story well told. While reading this story and even after completing it, I'm musing about Micki and Ros and how I would act in a similar situation.
Can't wait for the next work by Ms. deTarsio

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it! November 3, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Awesome story - my favorite so far - loved it! We all need our "peeps" - even if they are from another planet... Not to mention romance and the fact that women are capable of much more than they tend to give themselves credit for. Of course, being a single mom I can certainly relate! Loved the humor - very entertaining!

5.0 out of 5 stars Yeaaaaaa!!! ROS exceeded my expectations!!! Delightful! October 29, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
YES!
Dee - you did it again!

"ROS" is a wonderful, witty, charming, "wise in the ways of this Universe" adventure story for anyone who loves the magic and opportunities so abundant in our World(s). "ROS" is original, uplifting, imaginative, VERY FUNNY and not your run of the mill "predictable" adventure.

"ROS" is so filled with wit and humor and wisdom.......I did not want to miss anything, I reread much of it, extracting as much flavor as I could hold ----- savoring every morsel, every laugh again and again!

I loved the story itself, about a lovable female (from our cosmos) who brings home the Universal call for love. It is utterly refreshing to read a book like ROS that is actually uplifting, humorous and full of Universal Truths.

Thank you Dee Detarsio!

More About the Author

DEE DeTARSIO is a TV writer living in southern California. After growing up in Ennui, Ohio, and graduating from The Ohio State University she vowed never to be cold again (in a tantrum more worthy of Suellen than Scarlett) and ended up in Tucson, Arizona, producing the news for the CBS affiliate, oddly enough called KOLD-TV. She moved to San Diego where she worked in the SeaWorld entertainment department as a producer/writer. (Penguins are mean!) She then became a producer/writer for the NBC affiliate.

Dee is the author of hopefully-ever-after novels: THE SCENT OF JADE, THE KITCHEN SHRINK (both finalists in the prestigious San Diego Book and Writing Awards), 'TIL SOMEBODY LOVES YOU, ROS, and HAOLE WOOD, 2013 Next Generation Indie Book Awards Finalist! Her new book, ALL MY RESTLESS LIFE TO LIVE will be published this summer.

Though her mother never beat her (that hard) and her father is not a celebrity, she suspects one of her four sisters is a vampire.
