Offering the entire album at the same cost as individual tracks ($0.99/track) is an odd marketing choice. The Rolling Stones' Hot Rocks, for example, is discounted $1.83 from the cost of its 21 individual tracks.

Meditation in song. One of the must beautiful recordings I have ever heard. This woman's voice can take you to the most luminous places of your heart. A work of love, undoubtedly, and it shows.

5.0 out of 5 stars Music to Ease Gently into a Good Death, August 20, 2009

When my father began home hospice care, we were prepared for his dying. But predictions for when it would come got shorter and shorter. I remembered hearing a radio interview on "The Chalice of Repose," a music thanatology service, and knew that a CD of that music would help us and help my father. I'm certain that it did. Even during those times when we were in another part of my parents' home, listening to my father's breathing over a baby monitor, this CD was playing softly, creating an environment of peacefulness and safety. If you visit "The Chalice of Repose" web site, you'll see a discussion of how such music has a physical effect of release. I don't know if that's so, but I do believe that this CD helped to wash away anxiety and helped us tell my father that it was OK for him to cast off and sail to wherever the tide needed to take him. He was like a sailboat on the beach, and the music in this CD helped to lift him up and bear him home on a gentle wind. This music is wonderful for daily meditation, which is also a physical practice for release.

5.0 out of 5 stars On the wings of angels, April 6, 2006

This CD was recommended to me two years ago when my father was living out the last few months of his life due to a stroke. We played this CD on "repeat" 24/7. The staff, other residents and visitors would come into his room at the nursing home and just sit...thanking him for having this music as it so soothed their souls. It helped us both continually reach and choose love, choose release and choose God.

Theresa's beautifully haunting harp-playing and singing is what we'd like to think Heaven - or wherever our souls go -- sounds like. I continue to listen to it (like now) when I need a quick path to connect to my own spirit, love and trust or when I simply need to relax and be.

5.0 out of 5 stars A mystic musician who lives her spirituality, April 25, 2004
By A Customer

Listening to any of Therese's works invites us to leave the busy world for a moment, not to escape, but to focus on the greater truths of peace, hope and charitable service to others. All of her recordings are true spiritual medicine, and are in such need in today's world.

I've been a fan of Ms. Sheker since the mid 1980's, and she has followed me on many of life's journeys. This music is greatly needed. Bless you, Therese!

Rosa Mystica

I purchased this CD as a Christmas present for my son-in-law from his Amazon list. He was gracious enough to allow me to add it to my music collection on my computer.

The album name is wrapped in the history of Christendom. It refers to the Virgin Mary and the mystery of the incarnation. The virgin birth is one of Christendom sacred mysteries which cannot rationally be explained, but to embrace it, it must be accepted by faith.

Therese Schroeder-Sheker has taken her vast knowledge of medieval music and her exquisite talent to create a beautiful, haunting album. When I first listened to it during Christmas, I felt enchanted by the tones and sweeping melodies.

If someone has ever been to a sea cliff and stood there with the winds, the waves and the rock sounds echoing about them with the natural music of life, then this is the album for you. For as you stand there with your eyes closed and feel the energy of the Cosmos swirling about you, you become lost in the symphony which Rosa Mystica has to offer the listener.

For the spirit within us, we need a taste of empyreal ambrosia. If the food of the gods can be captured and shared with the mortals, then this is the feast which is set before the listener. In this world of haste and countless time deadlines, the spirit needs a repast away from the endless pace to find refreshment and nourishment.

One could continue adding adjectives to describe the music, but the best way is to buy it and enjoy the ecstasy which awaits you. Let the breath of this cosmic nectar overwhelm your senses like the bouquet of aged Bordeaux as its claret color swirls in pure crystal.
