Good bowls but a little expensive.,

The first shipment of bowls I received had a couple of broken bowls....Amazon quickly sent me replacements. They are good bowls but a bit small and a bit expensive as well. I would recommend them but there are some larger bowls at Pier 1 that are a bit cheaper.

I come from a traditional Italian family and we would NEVER use these bowls for pasta. Maybe the salad?? They are too shallow and too small. If pasta is going to be your main course, these are not the bowls for you. Very pretty, just too small. I will be returning them.

Let me first state that I have a nice pasta bowl set which I purchased for $25 at BBB which even came with the ginormous serving bowl. But the pasta bowls from that set are large 9 1/2"cross as opposed to 8" which this plate is. I like this set because it a smaller pasta bowl, which is exactly what I wanted so that it takes less room in my DW, those other larger plates burn a lot of premium DW space. Also because I make plates for my son and cover them with cheap no seal baggies for which you use the ties to close...these bags are no longer square and have been made smaller and these bowls fit nicely into those bags. If I hand wash these sm!aller pasta bowls it's just easier as they are lighter and the job seems small if i have a lot of them to wash. I also do not consume as much food...my larger pasta bowls hold a lot of food! Lastly, these are beautiful and each dish is a different design. Usually I am frugal, but based on the reviews I kinda knew what I was buying and I am okay with it. Every now and again I splurge. I do love them. Also note that they come in a beautiful box which can be used for other purposes.
