Written in flowery script on the silver-and-white gift box containing this Platinum Chandeliers teapot are the words "Belle Epoque," a reference to the lavish high-society years of pre-World War I Edwardian England. Rosanna graces her new tableware with the chandelier to symbolize the elegance, romance, and grand parties of that era. And, because the chandelier is making a popular comeback in the 21st century, the design fits right in with today's casual yet chic styling.
Each of the four teacups in this set is decorated with a different-and quite elaborate-chandelier design hand-rendered in real platinum. Lit candles and beaded swags detailed in the images gleam as though reflecting the sparkle of crystal. Straight-sided with no frills, each teacup holds six ounces and nestles in the matching saucer, which simply features a platinum rim band. Due to the metallic trim, neither the cups nor saucers should be used in the microwave and are best cared for when washed by hand.
