This Rosary with the Pope is excellent. Once I started listening to it, I couldn't put it down. It has been about 5 years since I've owned this CD /cassette. I still listen to it often. The Latin language is easy to pick up. And, you can pray along with the Holy Father. It makes me feel as though he's in the same room. I LOVE IT!

I listen to this CD in my car while commuting. It has a calming effect, and I find it keeps me saner behind the wheel. As people buzz past me, vying for that extra inch or two of headway, I find myself lost in the chant of these prayers. The fact that it's in Latin isn't the least bit distracting; indeed, it adds to the overall "feel" of the work. The only reason I give it a 4 and not a 5 is because the background organ music, while excellent, could be turned down a notch or two, as it has a tendency to drown out the dialogue.

while this is an excellent CD and I love hearing the pope say the rosary, be forwarned that (english) only refers to the title of each mystery all the the prayers the Our Father, Hail Mary, and the Glory be are in latin.

...in fact most of it's in Latin. If you're a pre-Vatican II Roman Catholic, then you'll probably be able to follow along after listening closely for a few minutes. I understood the Hail Mary, Our Father, Glory Be.. but not the rest. Had I know it was mostly in Latin, I would not have purchased it.

I was very pleased with this CD. As this is Pope John Paul II I was hoping it would include the Luminous Mysteries but the release date gives away the fact it only includes the Joyful, Sorrowful and Glorious mysteries. As mentioned before the CD is in Latin, which is what I expected since it is the language of the Church. I can see how some could be confused, in fact I did not know for sure what language until I first heard it, I had based my idea on assumption.

For those like me who are post-Vatican II you can simply google Rosary Latin to get the words of the prayers so you can follow along.

I found the sudden switch to English at the beginning of each mystery to be disruptive. The Organ is a bit loud at times, but after praying the rosary with the CD a few times, I began to enjoy the accompaniment. These two reasons moved my rating down from five to four stars.

This double CD set, Rosary with the Pope, captures the three original sets of mysteries (Joyful, Sorrowful, and Glorious) as Pope John Paul II led them in Latin for the faithful. The cover illustration is the young JPII kneeling in prayer with a Rosary, which highlights the holy experience. Knowing Latin is not necessary, if you're a quick learner; but this series brings back my ancient learning. At the end is the Marian Litany, also in Latin.

If you like the sense of awe and holiness in prayer, you're sure to enjoy this one: the original devotions were accompanied by background pipe-organ ad libitum for the processions and the mysteries.

The Rosary has always been an important part of the Catholic Faith. Pope John Paul II especially had a devotion to The Blessed Mother and her holy Rosary. Hearing the word said by this great man and being able to participate with him in this devotion in my own home is a blessing.

I bought two of these Cd's and it wasn't the one I was looking for, I was looking for "The Pope OF the Rosary," very sneaky different wording. Nonetheless I wouldn't send back Papa Wojtyla and I will find someone to give it to. But, one of them I don't know which came with a faulty case and I had to go buy a new case because it was a present.
