Product Description

The Rose of Jericho Resurrection Plant is an everlasting plant with mystical qualities.
Watch it miraculously come to life!
When the soil is moist after infrequent rains, a Resurrection Plant absorbs water and grows rapidly, producing a flat rosette of scaly stems up to one foot across. As the soil dries, it cannot store water like its succulent neighbors, so it folds up its stems into a tight ball as it desiccates and goes into a state of dormancy. The folded plant has a limited surface area, and what little internal moisture is present is conserved. All metabolic functions are reduced to a bare minimum and it appears to be dead. The plant can remain in this dormant condition for years. When the rains return, the plant's cells rehydrate. The stems unfold, metabolism increases, and growth resumes. Even dead Resurrection plants will unfold if given water, since rehydrated cells expand even if there is no living protoplasm in them.

Place the plant in a saucer of water and watch it grow. You won't believe your eyes!
Also called Dinosaur plant, it is one of natures most amazing wonders, as it can survive for decades without water and earth, even in extremely hot or cold conditions. The Rose Of Jericho can be used over and over again.
To make the Rose of Jericho reveal its wonders just water it with cold, warm or even boiling hot water, which would kill any other plant! You will then witness a sheer incredible miracle of nature: The apparently dead leaves will come back to live, open up and within a few hours the Rose becomes vivid and turns bright green. Allow about one day for it to open up fully.

Water it every day and keep it for up to 8 days. Let it dehydrate completely (about 2 days) before you use it again and again and again.....

You can also grow the Resurrection Plant in a pot of soil. Keep it evenly moist and provide bright, indirect light. It makes a great house plant.

After a month of purchasing the Rose of Jericho it is mostly brown than green. I water it and all as the instructions state. It hasn't changed from brown to green. Dissappointed. I purchased 2 of them.

1.0 out of 5 stars Died, February 5, 2010

It should be difficult to make it die, but I managed.
When it was delivered, it was small and it had grayish-brownish brunches that were just completely dry along with the green ones. These dry brunches never came to life. Even though the green brunches did open up in the water, the plant was far from looking "beautiful". If wasn't even pretty. People kept asking me what this strange thing is. After struggling for number of months, most of the brunches became dry and I decided not to hold on to it anymore.

This review is from: Rose of Jericho Resurrection Plant - Dinosaur Plant
The delivery was really quick and problem free. The plant is in good condition and is slowly opening up but looks good so far. I will be purchasing more Roses of Jericho in the future.
