I grabbed these at Christmas for the kiddos in hope of something that would have enough colors to keep the older kid (and her friends) happy when coloring. I was not disappointed.

Pros:

1) As it states, there are 100 colors.

2) Great variety and gradients of colors.

4) Surprisingly vivid.

Cons:

1) These dry out super fast. If the caps are loose at all, you will loose the marker in a matter of about half an hour.

2) They bleed (like most markers), so if you don't want it to ruin the other side, you need to make a photo copy or use colored pencils. If you are just writing with them (for note taking)

3) There are NO names on the pens. Not even the "Red". So if you are looking for an exact color, you have to guess.

4) The pen cap colors are not the same color as the actual marker. (But this is just a pet peeve. I've never seen a company that actually does.)

I know that it seems like there are a lot of cons, but most of them are personal pet peeves others might have too. The bottom line is they are pretty good for every day use. You may have to replace them fairly often, but at the price you can't go wrong. I would recommend these for kids and families. I wouldn't recommend these for artists (duh) and if you have an older kid who is seriously into art, save up and buy the kid a good brand.

I use them to make grocery lists and take basic notes.

I do illustrations and have to order pens all the time. I have specific sharpie pens that I buy at $1.50 each and when I run out of that pen, instead of having to run immediately to a store, I have a color to match in this box of 100. Some of the colors are light, awash, but others are pretty vivid and give a velvet effect. When you need gradation, which is often for me, these colors let me march up the color stair very easily. Some folks complained about drying out and the caps not matching. Yes if you are letting a child use them, you need to show them proper handling. As an adult, we know pens of all sorts dry out if not capped and just because they're cheap does not make it ok to be careless. These pens are a steal. As are most RoseArt products.

I live in Australia and bought these pens through Amazon as I cannot buy them here. I am just going to order another set as I love them. They are not perfect but I have yet to find the perfect product. I have used them daily since purchase and the tips have lasted well. I also use Faber Castell connector pens but Roseart has a different range of colors and the two products combined give me all the results I want. I would not necessarily recommend them for children but for serious adult colorists I think they add to the versatility they require.

Don't let your young artist use similar colors. The caps and bodies are not numbered, so if you try to put them back together you're essentially doing a color-blindness test. The cap colors only approximate the delivered colors. The tips are conical, about 3/16 inch diameter at the base. I hope they are indeed washable, and from human skin as well as fabric. I put all this to my young artist, who responded: "Who cares!"

I was really excited about these markers, until I got them. While there are 100 markers, most with different colored lids, many of them are the same color ink. The color is very anemic, and requires multiple passes to achieve any depth. The ink does not apply smoothly and left uneven streaks that second layers could not cover. I do papercuttings which I then color for accent. I usually use sharpies but I had a project that required more shades than I had in my collection of markers. After untold hours cutting out and coloring my project and waiting for these markers, I went to use these... and ruined it. So needless to say... I am kind of annoyed. I will be returning them and will make sure to test new markers more carefully in the future. Now, if you have kids and want these for them to color casually and for fun, these might be a good purchase. Otherwise, keep looking.

The colors were numerous with some of them about the same color. The only problem I had that reflected on the rating was that the color was not shown on the marker. You basically have to guess at what color you are using. This makes it hard if you are working on a project and need to use the same color twice. You would have to waste time trying all colors in that category to find the right shade. A note of advice is to put color name on the pen or a number with chart to refer to in the box lid. This would increase my rating.

This is an excellent product for starters and the more advanced, kids and adults alike. It was only one of a few products that offered the versatility of colors necessary to do most of the art projects that I like. At 100 markers, there are most of the colors you need to have the full color spectrum for all of you art projects.

I purchased these markers because I wanted a wide range of colors to use in my stain glass window books. I enjoy their vibrant colors.
They are a washable marker yet they don't rub off onto your skin easily.
They are non toxic so they are also good for a child to use for art work. *this does not mean that they will wash out of all clothing types or fabrics commonly found in furniture and linens.
The storage cases pull n pop design is a nice idea but not functional.
Nor was the lid perforated enough for easy opening. So I bought a desperate storage container.
