Book Description

June 11, 2008
INTRODUCING ROSE This is my story. A story played almost as if it were a game of chess, a manipulation of sorts, with me against the world. A game of chance as rolling of the dice while trying to strike that lucky seven but having a hard time being honest. I used fixed dice. No matter what you rolled, it always turned my way. I was tall with long, red hair and a body that went on for days. I never thought that my life style was wrong. Why should I? Who was my Judge? I had no faith in them. That word, "Judge" always turned me off as a bad scent on a stick. I played the hand that was dealt to me and I liked to be the dealer. I lived a life with rage and hate. I was a devils' spawn that spun its web and rapped it around many, never taking prisoners only names. Too many names to remember, but I tried I had to try because I knew one day someone would come back with the residue of my web on their face. Some say I was better off dead; feel sorry for me and the life that I lived. I look into their eyes and laugh, "I feel sorry for you." People are always trying to figure out someone else's issues to make their life bigger. I say, "Bigger than what?" They don't know my purpose or what pieces to the puzzle my life was going to add. If I were never born, there would be an imbalance in the universe. We never see the big picture until it is too late. I do have some regrets. I wish I had spent more time with my daughter. I was always trying to make myself rich at any cost. I forgot to look around to see what mattered. I wanted the big house. I got it. I wanted the long bank account. I acquired it. I wanted the luxury cars; I had two. All those things so that the world may look at me and say, "Damn, Rose has it going on." I forgot the mark that was branded on my face by the taboo that I carried along with me as a passenger in my front seat. My sisters, Brianna, and Dakota were there. Funny, three people going through the same experience but each setting off on a different journey.

About the Author

Shelley Parsons, born Shelley Sherise Balara, currently lives in California with her husband and two children, her beautiful angels-Dartagnan and Holiday-who were born eight months apart, premature. Shelley used the time in between midnight feedings to sit at the computer and focus on her dream. Although attempting to become an accomplished writer was not the obvious choice at first, giving birth to her children put her in a position to take time away from the everyday grind and placed her in a quiet space were she could finally take time to write extensively. Today, Shelley Parsons has completed the novel, Quieting the Storm, one of a two-book series. The last Installment of this series is the novel RoseBud www.shelleyparsons.com

5.0 out of 5 stars AT LONG LAST ONE BOOK, ONE VOICE TO HEAL PAIN, July 2, 2008

This review is from: Rosebud (Paperback)
THIS BOOK, THE SEQUEL TO "QUIETING THE STORM" IS WRITTEN IN COMPASSIONATE TRUTH TO ADDRESSING THE ISSUE OF CHILD MOLESTATION AND INCEST. IT HELPED ME TO ACCEPT THIS UGLY VIEW OF LIFE. IT SHOWED ME THAT HUMAN BEINGS ARE MADE FROM THE LOVE OF GOD AND GOD HAS GIVEN THEM THE STRENGTH TO OVERCOMING OUR CHALLENGES. MY GREATEST HOPE IS THAT THIS BOOK REACHES THE PEOPLE WHO NEED ITS INSPIRATION TO MOVE AHEAD WITH THEIR LIFE PATH. I THOROUGHLY ENJOYED THIS BOOK AND AM LOOKING FORWARD TO READING MS. PARSONS NEXT ENDEAVOR.

5.0 out of 5 stars Something to think about,Something to talk about, July 1, 2008
This review is from: Rosebud (Paperback)
After Reading Quieting the storm (New Edition). I fell in love with these

characters as if they were a part of my own circle. I wanted to know more about the back story, Rose, She is the most honest and authentic person who you can't help but to have great compassion for. I thought the way Shelley Parsons brought this two book series together was new and creative, I thought a lot about the shadows of other peoples lives and began to see that things are never really what they seem and that everyones life has purpose, Great story, very innovative and can't wait for Shelley parsons next book Onyx Love. She is a Visionary
