Although the petals had that lovely color that we associate with good quality dried rose, they were completely lacking in fragrance. I am very sensitive (in a good way) to fragrance, so when I say that these didn't have any discernible rose smell, they really didn't. The lavender that I purchased from the same seller was the polar opposite: sweet, fragrant, fresh; as beautiful to the eye as to the nose. So, what happened to the rose? I had to do a bit of "first aide" with a good quality rose scent before arranging them in the centerpiece baskets. :-(

I bought these rose petals for tea and found them to be exactly what I wanted/expected. They smell like rose, just like they should. (I've bought other petals that came with a really weird chemical smell. These are fine.) There are a fair amount of full flowers, not just loose petals. That sometimes makes it sort of annoying to stuff them into a tea strainer since some of the flowers are kinda big (like an inch to an inch-and-a-half across), but it is what it is.
The tea is good and that's all I care about.

I belong to an Herb Guild in NE Ohio; since Rose is the herb for 2012 I had been searching for product to use for teas, desserts, salads and savory sauces. I was excited when my husband sent me this link. Not only does the product look and smell wonderful; it was extremely well prices. I will be testing it next week. I am anxious to see what other food grade products might be of interest to me.
