Nice and immediate, with two absolutely grrrr-eat songs: "The Beat Goes On" and "I'd Feel Better."

Review from the Synthesis,
By Synthesis_jason (Chico, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Rosebuds Unwind (Audio CD)
The Rosebuds are known for dabbling in many diverse genres while sprinkling pop-y hooks over each piece. Here on Unwind, the group runs the gamut from alternative rock ballads ("El Camino") to boogie-filled rock `n' roll. With six accessible songs of indie rock goodness, Unwind plays more like an album than an EP. The boy/girl duo of Ivan Howard and Kelly Crisp plays a variety of instruments, including lap steel, piano and Fender Rhodes, helping to give each song a sense of completeness, yet avoiding the image of them just screwing around in the studio. The Rosebuds are able to tackle almost any genre as long as they spread their indie-pop sweetness over it.
