5.0 out of 5 stars Wow.
This is fantastic. As if Sean Lennon's more pop/rock endeavors weren't inventive, rich and creative enough for you, now there's this. Defies categorization and immerses you in a lush, unpredictable soundscape. He's one of the the brightest younger composers out there today.

Danny Elfman without the (forgive me, oh great orange-headed one) pompousness.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pleasant if somewhat generic sound track
This is a soundtrack. The music is both pleasant and enjoyable, although the tunes have a sort of generic sound track feel. This disc is likely to please Lennon's fans and not likely to convince people who don't like his work.

This is a beautiful blend of... Who Cares? It's an amazing New Style of Classical. I'm all about it. I feel like this is setting the mood for the next generation. Places you in a European World War II setting. Very much the ambience in many big cities around the world at this time. +

5.0 out of 5 stars pleasant surprise, January 15, 2010
An imaginative album that shows a skilled musician and talented composer. It's like a doll house where you discover hidden treasures in unexpected places. Give it a listen, it might surprise you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sean Lennon "the underated one", January 2, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Although not a catchy pop album, Sean Lennon demonstrates his scence of counter melody, creative maturity, and his true talent.Done completely on a computer,Sean plays the majority of musical parts himself except two vocals and a few classical insturmentalist guest performances. In my oppinion Sean is as talented as Paul Mccartneys symphony albums. But of course I am comparing apples to oranges.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than his father... But that's not saying much, July 2, 2011
It's not fair to judge a man based on his father's achievements...but I'm going to do it anyway. I'm going to compare the two on several points and see which one is better.

First of all, I think it's really cool that Sean Lennon's 3rd album is a soundtrack for a low budget movie that no one has ever seen. This brilliant piece of art was composed on Sean's bedroom computer. So we can already see how much effort he put into this album, not even willing to get out of bed to write it. To be fair, it's probably better than his father's 3rd album, The Beatles' A Hard Day's Night, which get this, ironically enough, was also a film soundtrack. And without even have seen Rosencraps is a Vampire, or whatever the heck this movie's called, I'm willing to go out on a limb and say the movie's better as well. After all, in a Hard Day's Night, it was just the Beatles traveling to a gig and being pursued by girls. Talk about ego problems. Point: Sean (+1)

This brings me to another issue, the speed at which the two wrote and produced material. John and the Beatles had their 3rd album out in their second year. Sean's debut was in 2001, so, wow, it's taken him 8 years to produce 3 albums. That's pathetic by anyone's standards. John put out about 2 albums a year, (not counting the hundreds of compliatoins of course). . That's good by anyone's standards, regardless of how bad they were. Point John, easy. (+1)

So, that pretty much makes father an son tied, I know, pretty cool, huh? So for the tie breaker, we'll compare the personal life of the two, yeah, I'll go there. Sean has been pretty much reclusive, working on films, as an actor and such, he has lived his life pretty much out of the limelight so to speak. His pops, John on the other hand, well, he made one social blunder after the next. Pretty much from the time he made the egotistical remark about the Beatles being better than Jesus, he has taken flack for saying something stupid without thinking. Then there was his short stint with communism, approx. 1969 to his death in 1980, even writing the neo-marxist anthem "Imagine." And let's not even mention his divorcing his hot wife and marrying fish-wife Yoko Oh-no! Point: Sean...Umm how about two points for this one, no 3. (+3)

Last but not least, there is the fact that John was a major contributor to Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band, an album that many people consider to be the best album ever made. Many stupid, tone deaf people that is. Minus 1 point for that. (-1)

So the final tally is...(drum roll)...Ta Da!

John Lennon = 0
Sean Lennon = 5.

I believe this is undeniable proof that Sean Lennon is better than his father. So I give this album 5 stars, without ever even listening to it. I rock. And so does Sean apparently.

RIP John Lennon. Father. Musician. Communist.
