5.0 out of 5 stars The definitive text, March 14, 2007

This review is from: Rosen's Breast Pathology (Hardcover)
This is IMHO the definitive of all breast pathology texts out there. Illustrations vary in quality, but the text is solid & clear. Second ed came out in 2001, so we may be due for another update before too long...we will have to wait to see if Dr. Rosen continues to write most of it or turns it over to someone else. There are plenty of controversial & evolving topics (ADH/DCIS & CCC), but this text does an admirable job of dealing with them despite the book's starting to show its age. The Tavassoli text is even older (2nd ed in 1999).

3.0 out of 5 stars Web resource problems ..., February 1, 2011

This hard cover text book is an excellent resource for the practicing pathologist. The online text was great until January, 2011, when Lippincott took down what was an excellent, fast and efficient, online resource. For weeks now, the online text has been unavailable. Lippincott has posted: "We are currently working to improve your E-Book experience. As a result of these upgrades, the E-Book for this title is currently unavailable. The new and improved E-Book for this title will be available shortly."

My other euphemistically "new and improved" Lippincott E-books, such as Schnitt: Biopsy Interpretation of the Breast, are miserably restricted online references, which seem like limited versions of Amazon's "Click to Look Inside" function. The new online reference texts can now be displayed just one page at a time. They can no longer be scrolled or printed. They can be searched, but the rudimentary search function merely returns a list (10 entries at a time) of every page on which the search text appears, along with a 5-6 word sentence fragment for context (no chapter or section title). From that minimal information, I cannot figure out which entry is likely pertinent to my query. With Lippincott's "new and improved" E-books, it's faster for me to get up, get the printed text book off the library shelf, and look it up there.
