5.0 out of 5 stars A Rose Indeed, December 8, 2010

This movie is an excellent review of the volitile situaton in El Salvador in the 1980's. I used it for my class to honor the lives of the four Church women who were murdered Dec. 2, 1980. I was not disappointed in this heartfelt and very sad misunderstanding of four women who were trying to help the compasinos in their dreadful living conditions.

5.0 out of 5 stars How are these courageous and holy women not canonized saints now over twenty years later?, December 26, 2011

How is the Venerable Monseñor Romero not now a Saint?

See this DVD once more and see the greatest saints of our time.

Murdered under US advisorship in the dawning of the Reagan and Wojtyla age, and ignored and disparaged and forgotten.

Keep our blessed martyrs alive and present to us. See this DVD and remember who we are as a people, as a Church.

We each need to see this DVD. Future generations will wonder whether we did not know such holiness dwelt among us, sacrificing so much so unselfishly in compassion and walking with the poor pilgrim People of God.

These are truly, undoubtedly, our saints. See them here, and all the holy innocents also pictured here, and so study this tragic time most carefully.

Now, twenty years later, due for an update, to tell us what has happened, to the investigations, to their canonizations, to their families, to these nations.

Necessary viewing for every American, for every Roman Catholic, in particular those most publicly and politically Catholic now, in this highly political season.

For here is what it is to be Catholic.

Please see this now, and pray . . .

See also please, reading very carefully and repeatedly Voice of the Voiceless: The Four Pastoral Letters and Other Statements and all the rest you can get.

And implore our great saints: Ita and Maura and Dorothy, and Jean grant us peace and comfort and warmth and food and shelter and love in these hard years to come.

See also the similar case of the Reverend Father Ignacio Ellacuria and his holy companions, in Paying the Price: Ignacio Ellacuria and the Murdered Jesuits of El Salvador, and especially in Companions of Jesus: The Jesuit Martyrs of El Salvador, and remember the tens of thousands of forgotten and unknown innocent martyrs for our faith, slaughtered upon the bloody altar of our national economic interests.
