5.0 out of 5 stars Unusual, but great song
After Hey Ya! and The Way You Move, I couldn't wait to see Outkast's next video. When I saw the video Roses premiered on TV, I thought "Why Roses?". I heard the song before, and I thought it was okay, but when the song grew on radio audiences, the song grew on me too. After Hey Ya! and The Way You Move, I couldn't wait to see Outkast's next video. When I saw the video Roses premiered on TV, I thought "Why Roses?". I heard the song before, and I thought it was okay, but when the song grew on radio audiences, the song grew on me too. Outkast has certainly come a LONG way since their Southernplayalistic days, because Roses is one of the most creative songs I've ever heard. The beat is a rap beat, SORT OF, with all sorts funky background noises. Dre, uh, I mean Andre 3000 sings in his trademark off-key voice known so well in songs like "The Whole World", and of course, "Hey Ya!", and the lyrics are clever as well. The chorus will get you singin' along and Big Boi drops a hot rap verse near the end too. Overall a very cool song, with a video that will make you laugh time and time again.
