(REAL NAME)
This is the second of the Peter Macklin suspense series. It is a very good story. It shows that in Detroit of the 1980's even Mafia Hitmen have troubles. Pete Macklin's Wife after discovering that her husband's eficiency expert job was really that of a hitman takes steps to divorce him,he is served papers,he obtains his boss's attorney [Klieg] and escapes a retaliatory asassination attempt on his way to protect Klieg's niece from a pornographer. A japanese asassination attempt on him misfires. He is taken to the cleaners by his wife when he is divorced. The hijackers of the Bobolo incident's boss has a killer on his trail and the attempt on his life delays him causing klieg's nice to be killed. He learns that the pornographer and his stalker are a team. He tracks them down and terminates their contracts.

4.0 out of 5 stars Who do you hire to hit a hitman?, January 7, 2012
This review is from: Roses are Dead (Peter Macklin, The Nine-to-Five Killer, Book 2) (Hardcover)
The second in the Peter Macklin crime suspense series. A mysterious criminal entity hires several hitmen to take out retired mobster assassin Macklin. Not at the high level of Estleman's first Macklin novel of suspense - Kill Zone - but good enough in it's own way.
