ROSES IN WINTER
FROM THE HISTORY OF TWO GENERATIONS TOUCHED BY TWO GREAT WARS COMES A SOARING EPIC OF THE ENDURING HUMAN SPIRIT AND HEART. . .
. . .of a girl born to a dying woman in the last dark hour of the Great War and destined to live in England’s most privileged splendor
. . . of a young man who ran from a world of wealth to the wild freedom of the mighty Mississippi.
In the bleak coal mines and stately mansions of post-war Britain . . . the teeming streets and smoky brothels of New Orleans . . . the intrigues of the French Resistance . . . . the terror of Hitler’s Gestapo . . . and in all the passing years between they shared a life-long mystery begun in the dying echoes of an old battle, and found a love whose seeds had been planted in war-scorched earth to flower at last like
ROSES IN WINTER . . . An intricate epic saga of adventure, history, suspense . . . and love.

I am a big fan of author Joan Dial, and this is my favorite of all her books. I have a paperback copy on my bookshelf but was thrilled to see it now being offered for my kindle. I love history and adventure and romance, and this book has it all. I highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finding some long lost friends!, February 22, 2011
This review is from: Roses in Winter (Kindle Edition)
Wow.
This is really exciting. I read this book years ago when it was out in paperback and loved it. It's really amazing. It's goes from the end of World War I up to the Pearl Harbor Attack and it has the most unforgettable characters. I read it over and over because I really loved Matt and Geneva and the parts set in the old south. I haven't seen my copy in a long time and I can't wait to catch up with my old friends.
P.S. I'm going to let my boyfriend read it cuz my old boyfriend said it was the best book HE EVER READ and it can't possibly hurt to get a little romance into any of these guys. I hope Joan Dial is going to release all her books on Kindle (there were a lot) and I saw two that I'm sure are new because I'd read them all before.
Get these books and you will have many happy hours ahead.
