David Olney is a great singer-songwriters,

To my surprise, up till now nobody reviewed any of David Olney's albums. David Olney is one of the great singer-songwriters from the USA, a close friend of Townes Van Zandt, who if I remember well wrote some liner notes for David's albums. David Olney brings the same mix of ballads and blues songs you may know from Townes Van Zandt (the album contains a cover of Rex's blues). He is a really great story-teller, who manages to tell a whole life story in a song. Lean and hungry years is my favorite song on this album, describing the struggling of a 'not so well-known singer'. Anyway, if you like Townes van Zandt, Emmylou Harris, Guy Clark etc., try David Olney as well !
