Rosetta Stone V2: Pashto Level 1

This is actually the first of a number Rosetta Stone courses that I have used over the years. I found it difficult to use because of what it doesn't have: no explanation of grammar and no glossing of the vocabulary, and there is some other vocabulary that I couldn't find in the one Pashto dictionary I was able to locate. So I found an expensive solution, which was to buy the program for Spanish, a language I'd already studied extensively. This solution worked well enough, because the content from one course to another doesn't vary and the few Spanish words I met that I didn't already know were easy to look up. So my take on Rosetta Stone in general is that it works very well and is certainly a lot of fun to use if what you are really looking to do is review- and there are so many different kinds of interactive exercises that almost all learners should get some benefit. But I'm going to go ahead and give the Pashto course four stars anyway because there are so few resources available for this language that this represents a great advance over what is already out there.

I am giving buyers a heads up about the wonder new Mac OS X Lion. It seems that ver. 1-2 of rosetta is no longer compatible with this new mac version. I would tell you from the research after I found out it won't work with ver 1-2, that it will work on older versions of OS Mac but not the new one for now unless you get ver 3 or higher. Running it on window the program is just like what you would expect from Rosetta, a product worth your money.
