If you want to REALLY learn a language..this is the software. Like having your own personal tutor and learning like you did when you were young. Highly recommended. "Det ar jatta bra"

I found the Swedish modules lacking vocabulary for everyday use. I used Hugo Language books and tapes many years ago, and tested myself against the much touted Rosetta Stone. I was surprised how easy Rosetta is to use and there is an immediate feeling of accomplishment, but the Swedish modules need to be revisited. (Perhaps, Rosetta shines for the more popular languages.) For the price, I don't expect to see errors, which were more obvious in Volume 3. No one will ever confuse your intent, but a few extra vocabulary words are recommended. Overall, it's a great way to begin learning Swedish.

I enjoyed learning vocabulary and basic grammar with this program, but found that it had significant limitations. Many computers, especially the compact laptops that have become popular recently, lack CD drives. You MUST have the CD to use this. Not only is this ineffective as copy protection, but it tethers my otherwise portable computer to a USB CD drive. I can't use this as the airport or the coffee shop like I can use other software. The lame copy protection also prevents it from being installed in Windows emulation on Linux. Oh, and you can't sell it or return it if you decide it's not for you thanks to their legally dubious licensing agreement.
