This product is outstanding. The way it is presented and the way it is made in the combination with computer and audio. The only problem I found and I think is a large one: that in order to install and to start learning you need to know English to begin with. If someone can help you-it is OK, but if You don't speak the language then it is very difficult to begin.

The system is effective but they have a lot of glitches with their software. I was able to install all but level 2 CD onto my HD. R.S. tech support was not very helpful at all and even rude. They told me it was my computer that was at fault. Having an Engineering degree and the fact that the application CD, Level 1 and Level 3 installed successfully made them re-think their approach. That took 3 hours of my time. I expected much more for the money I paid.

My mother got it as a gift and she seems to like it a lot. Its very deductive style of learning. The instalation process requires somebody that knows English, though... - and even to start the lessons itself.
Overall, great program

Our homeschool edition, American English levels 1, 2 and 3 cannot distinguish between "man" and "woman" and "this" and "these". Sometimes the speaker says "hello" correctly and at other times the "hello" is rejected. After many calls to tech support, we're asking that they refund our money.

I had purchased Rosetta Stone approximately one and a half months ago and still are not able to activate it. Also beware of Amizons return policy, Amizon has not contacted me about returning the poduct, completely ignoring my request. Be aware of Roseetas Stone and Amizons return policy. Richard Watkins

The software wasn't allowing me to install some levels, it got many flaws in itself. I got this for my parents who are around 50, the computer software was very confusing to them, it is definitely too complicated and not recommended for elderly. I returned it with complete packaging, even with the seal unbroken, however, I only got half of my money back. be careful buying it, if you aren't sure of it, go to Rosetta Stone Official Website.

We don't realize that English is the hardest to learn. This is a terrific set

This product is a great tool in order to learn to english like a second language or to improve level actual.

My wife & I are both college graduates. I'm English speaking only, & her college major was language, but not English. She's lived in the US for more than 25 years, and she can express esoteric concepts in English, and if I possess the cognitive capacity, we are able to exchange ideas in innumerable areas, using English as the facilitating exchange medium. I apparently however, lack a large degree of common sense.
I purchased "Rosetta Stone" for 5 C notes to improve her English, and in retrospect, I wonder how I thought it possible to improve our communication with our aforementioned back grounds? By virtue of required verbal exchanges, she was an "ideal" student, and "snap" if I didn't already have the resources, provided by my life experiences to afford an "ideal" English language knowledge base. I have a rudimentary command of English, if not perhaps even greater, in both written and spoken forms. My thoughts are that my knowledge base entails formal, as well as vernacular English, along with innumerable euphemisms.
Now, when I reflect that I thought that any 'software program' would possess this level of information, especially in phonetics & enunciation, these thoughts provided me with pause to reevaluate what "Rosetta Stone" which I believe is a fine program, could possibly offer. Given everything that we already had, can I say, "500 bucks who needs them", Duh...
