I purchased this Farsi 1,2,3 and it is awesome! I also use easypersian (free), flashcardexchange (inexpensive),World Languages, TravelTalk, several Farsi dictionaries, Pimsleurs Persian, and watch a lot of Farsi movies from irmovies (look for the ones with English subtitles, it helps a lot!)! The combination really works! What words and phrases I learn in one mode of learning only enhanses the over all language absorption obtained while using Rosetta Stone's marvelous software! I would definately advise anyone learning Farsi to buy this and seek out immersion from other avenues!

I was skeptical about learning a language using computer software, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this product. This is not a simple flashcard program, which is what a lot of other language-learning products are. The authors have clearly studied second language pedagogy, and they've crafted their lessons very thoughtfully. I took a semester of Farsi, but I've had a better experience with this software; indeed, when you think about the cost, compare the price of a level with a semester's tuition, rather than with alternative software products. Short of sitting down with a native speaker as a private tutor, this product is your best bet.

I am a tight wad at times and not good at languages so it was difficult for me to part with so much money for a product that for me, may not be successful. I haven't owned it long enough to know if I will reach fluency but based on my experiences with language software and language courses, a person will be hard pressed to find a better at home product. Yes, if you can immerse yourself into the language fully by travelling overseas or some special camp then you will have better results. But for a person studying at home, this software is top notch. The caveat being that the software will take you a certain distance but in the end, a person has to find someone to talk with in the desired language.

This is a great product. It is hard to find good language products in Farsi.

This is very good for learning the language.

It is time intensive, as would be for any language learning process, but probably more effective than other language learning processes.

There are some annoying aspects to the activation and licensing process if you are behind a company firewall:

1. Even if you have the disks and the license card, they want to see receipts from your original purchase if you didn't buy from them directly.

2. Behind a firewall, potentially they won't activate you over the phone or chat at all if you've lost the original receipt.

3. They are on to version 4 which is subscription-based and interactive, so either you pay $20/month or whatever it is or buy an older version or you don't get their process.

So I would give it 5 stars based on what they deliver but lower this to 2.5 stars based on their licensing model, which is aimed at preventing license transfer.
