Customer Reviews

Been working great for weeks.

The power supply is efficient and supports a 4 amp load, allowing for many devices to draw without browning out the load.

I have had good experience with Rosewill brand products in the past and this one is no exception.

Pros: This hub has worked flawlessly for me for 6 months. I use this product with a Macbook Pro, which has only 2 USB ports. That's not enough.

This is a 10-port hub. There are more than enough ports for my keyboard, mouse, external hard drive, backup/archival hard drive, USB Flash drive, iPod, and embedded systems development kits. It works as expected.

The hub is very low-power: when all attached devices are turned off and it's just maintaining its "I'm a hub!" status, it draws 20mA, or 0.1W.

Finally, one feature that's not mentioned in the writeup or other reviews is the cable management loops integrated into the sides of the device. They look like this:
[...]
Without these loops, there would be an awful mess coming from this device. With them, my always-connected devices run cleanly off behind my desk, and I've got plenty of room in front for new connections.

The LEDs are visible in normal lighting, but not too bright when I'm trying to sleep.

Cons: The device is very, very light, and the rubber feet aren't soft. With the cables in the back, you can put one or maybe two cables on the opposite front corner and it will be steady. With more ports in use, the USB cables are too stiff and heavy for this lightweight unit.

Other reviewers have had troubles with the power supply; I've had none but wanted to be on the safe side and therefore switched it out for an extra I had laying around. (I used the supplied PSU for a pair of speakers, and a CUI PSU for this product because it's got some pretty valuable stuff connected to it). It's a standard 2.1mm ID, 5.5mm OD, center-positive plug, and it requires 5V regulated DC power. The supplied PSU claimed to supply 4A, which is more than you probably need.

This hub will connect to a raspberry pi computer and provide 10 usb ports.

I was able to run 8 powered devices at once, which is still very good. However, I wish the power supply was 5 amps, then it would be perfect -- I could use power hungry devices on all 10 ports. If the devices are low power consumption, such as usb sticks, you can probably use all 10 ports.

If you need to run 500mA devices on all 10 ports, get the Anker or Aitech 10 port USB 3 hubs. If you're running 500mA devices on 8 or less ports, this Rosewill Hub is great because it's about half the price of those hubs (although only USB 2 of course).

I've always had good luck w/ Rosewill products. Been using this hub for less than 6 months. It works very well. Small foot print. 7 USB 2.0 ports - 5 are powered. The 2 on the end are not. They work w/ or w/o power connected to the hub. Particularly like that the powered ports are switched (have a power on/off rocker switch). Comes in quite handy. Great, too, for laptops w/ under/low-powered USB bus (esp. mini's and netbooks). Use it to connect external hard drives, optical drive, wireless transceiver, scanner, etc. This hub is a practical addition to any computer user's or technician's gadget collection.

This hub will support 5 Antminer U2's. You even have enough space to add on additional heatsinks on the chip side. The power supply is 5v 4a.

This hub is lightweight, so it slides around a bit, but that's not worth docking points for. It's got a teeny footprint, and I love that most of the outlets are on top, which makes them easy to get to. Works perfectly. I like that it doesn't come with running lights, as a lot of hubs do. I do not need one more LED in my eye, thankyouverymuch.

Now all of my chargers are plugged in and no more fighting for space on my laptop. It also works for bitcoin USB miners with the Raspberry Pi.

I bought 6 of these for a block an asic miner block erupter farm ... they powered 8 easily, and the two extra ports worked for making a "tree" of usb devices. Highly recommended if you still need USB 2.0 expansion ports.

I've been using this USB adapter for more than a year. It is a terrific gadget. Very compact, but the five ports on the top are widely spaced so odd-spaced USB plugs can be accommodated. The five top-mounted ports are also powered and there is an on/off switch. Two non-powered ports are nestled at the end of the strip. These are a bit more narrowly spaced.

The unit measures 5.51" x 1.18" x 0.98" and the AC adapter is not massive. All in all, an excellent choice for home, office or travel use.

Jerry
