I've had this router for about a week, and since I sorted out a few kinks, it is working great. Tons of features and good wireless range. I had a few hiccups getting it setup though. For one, there is a firmware update that is supposed to help with compatibility with certain modems. For me, the trick was resetting the motorola cable modem so that it would recognize the mac on the router. Before I did that I was losing the connection between the modem and router every so often. Since resetting the modem (through the web interface...192.168.100.1) it has been working great.

btw, when you first set it up, disconnect the power from your modem while you set up the router. Then, power on the router first and once it is up, then turn on the modem. Then the cable modem will recognize the mac on the router.

Well I bought this on newegg during their black november sale, it had high reviews before the sale, but now that it is over there are floods of negative reviews coming in mine being one of them. The router takes a good amount of effort to connect to the internet. It fails to identify whether your connection is static IP or DHCP and flip flops between the two dropping your connection. When your connection is dropped you have to reset your modem to attempt to connect to the network again. The error messages that are within the firmware are some of the most severely broken english I have ever seen. Attempted to upgrade the firmware but that didn't work which I wasn't surprised based on the performance of the router prior to that. When it does connect it works great but this connection drops within 2 hours every time. RMA'ing this router, avoid this so you don't experience the same hassle I did.

I upgraded from a very old linksys router that was severely crippled in the RAM capacity. It would freeze while running torrents. Once I upgraded to this and set it up (which was very easy), I could run a number of torrents with no problems at all. Right now it's running over 5 connections while steaming media, downloading, and running web apps with no issues at all. Wireless is a little hit or miss, but i'm not sure if that's the router or the traffic in my area. Overall, i'd highly recommend it.

Note: I haven't used the USB option yet, but I plan to one day.

Has the same electronic guts (chip sets) as much higher priced routers. Therefore, for the money this is a better buy especially if you can catch it on sale..
