This keyboard was well worth it.

The "clicky" sound of the cherry MX blue switches is the perfect middle ground for mechanical keyboards.

Cherry MX Blue switches are easy to press, really responsive, sound awesome, and feel great on the fingers. I like that this has the dual USB ports on the back of the keyboard as well, because they make it convenient to charge my other devices. The adjustable back-lighting is gorgeous in any brightness. I often work at night, and like that it can be dimmed. I use this keyboard for more than just gaming, and so I like that it has a numpad as well. Keycaps are just the right height for my liking, and spaced perfectly for my hand size. The weight is great: I expected it to be really heavy since it is full size, but it's surprisingly balanced. The adjustable feet are rubberized, and I like that feature too, because I like the angle with them up. There are no frills, which I love ~ Especially because the lack of a wrist rest, (wrist rests get in my way)
The numlock, capslock, and scroll lock keys light up green, but don't adjust with brightness - they are always really bright. That's an easy fix though. I just popped off the cap and blacked out the back of the key and LED to make it less bright (easy fix)

This keyboard feels fantastic. I love how the cherry-blues feel. some might say it's too hard for gaming and want browns, but I like it for all the writing and typing I do. I also like the illumination. It's a nice added feature. What I do miss, however, are macro and added function keys, ie calc and a sleep button! I wish I knew how to program hotkeys or something. But alas the keyboard itself feels and looks great.

It is a very heavy keyboartd. That is a good thing. It helps it stay in place when in use. The lighinting is nice. Can be VERY bright or can be adjusted down to dim. Being able to select various Modes is a nice feature also. The mode lets you light up just the WASD keys and the arrow keys or the entire keyboard or the entire keyboard minus the numbers pad.

So far I like it.

Have had the KB for less than a day, and am still adjusting to the layout (my previous was a stock compact kb that shipped with my HP PC and had an annoyingly non-standard key layout). I can already tell the difference in my typing accuracy, or at least that I can tell when I've made an error just by listening to the clicks.

I picked up the illuminated version because I have retinopathy, and in low-light conditions, I have trouble reading standard keys. The blue LEDs on the 9100 are bright enough for day or night, and can be adjusted to 3 or 4 levels of brightness. The key illumination also has about 4 different configs, for gaming, whole KB, all but numeric keypad, and none, all accessible via the KB's FN key.

I like the resistance of the CherryMX Blue switches. The sound feedback is adequate, reminding me of KBs of yore like the ancient IBM-PC doorstoppers that never wore out, but unlike those, the MX Blues are not loud enough to keep chupacabras away.

Based on my limited experience, I'm 100% satisfied thus far.

I had been wondering for years why there didn't seem to be any of these "clicky" keyboards easily available in retail stores or even online - it looks like i wasn't the only one who was missing them. After using a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard and mouse combo for several years (and I never thought I was going back from Bluetooth), and being kind of unhappy with the squishy keys, I decided I was going to grab one of these for both myself and my wife - and we both love them. It's definitely got the old-school clicky feel to it, and when you get on a tear, you feel like you can type a million miles an hour. The illumination is also really cool, and lastly I like the fact that it's a standard key layout - the Logitech I was using was a bit odd when it came to the Insert, Delete, Home and End keys. Now my home keyboard is the same layout as my work one, so I don't have to mentally revert between the two layouts.

Once you try these, all other keyboards seem spungy. It does make more noise but that is well worth the experience.

This is my first mechanical keyboard and I absolutely love it! I enjoy the clicking sound of the reds a lot. The backlit keys are really helpful when its dark and you don't want to disturb your room mate. The feet that prop the keyboard up are very sturdy(dont slip). The cord looks and feels very durable. On a down side the keys are difficult to remove which will make it harder to clean in the future. Over all it is a sturdy well built keyboard that looks super wicked at night!

I have had this keyboard for more than a year and it is the best keyboard I have personally owned. I always loved the feel of the IBM Type M keyboards and this is as close as it comes to those plus this one is illuminated. Definitely worth the price if you want a good mechanical keyboard. BTW, I am not a gamer so I cannot speak to how good the keyboard would be for gaming, but for everyday task and heavy word processing it is terrific.
