5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent reference
While Rosicrucians themselves will find little in this book they don't already know, it's an excellent, scholarly approach to the subject of Rosicrucianism. A great many references and pointers toward other texts are included as well as a number of delightful anecdotes which offer insight into the goals of the sincere Rosicrucian student.

If you aren't a rosicrucian student, you should read this book, in order to get some info about the teachings of the Order. If you are a rosicrucian student, just don't read it!, it will not give you any new knowledge!!, it seems to be writen by an amateur with good intentions about the Order and the investigation. In my humble opinion Mr. Willy made a good Job!

5.0 out of 5 stars A groundbreaking new view of the Hermetic tradition, November 29, 2006
This review is from: A Rosicrucian Notebook: The Secret Sciences Used by Members of the Order (Paperback)
This book of stories surrounding noted German Rosicrucian figures is filled with intriguing feats of magick that will fascinate any practicing magician. A broader idea of who these Rosicrucians were than that given by modern commentators may be realized. These old stories may be exaggerated but one may gain an inkling of what is possible for someone who has achieved Rosicrucian adeptship.

4.0 out of 5 stars A scholarly and accurate text, March 28, 2000
This review is from: A Rosicrucian Notebook: The Secret Sciences Used by Members of the Order (Paperback)
I am impressed with Schrodter's neutral and history views. I have used this to check other authors views, and historical things regarding some of the concepts and practices. While i must agree with another reviewers thoughts that this was quite dry, i would equate it largely to a Kenneth Starr report. All things considered a valuable book.

You can tell this is a translation. There is alot of information, but do not read this book late in the evening, you will fall asleep! The style of the book is dry, the presentation is also very dry. It is not very interesting to read, except that it gives alot of valuable information.

1.0 out of 5 stars Also full of nonsense, July 13, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: A Rosicrucian Notebook: The Secret Sciences Used by Members of the Order (Paperback)
I was succered into buying this book by some charlatan who raved about it's contents. It's full of nonsense, lies, half truths, and misguided new age jibberish. The book is rubbish. I seldom throw books away but this is one fit for the landfill.
