This is a great can opener! The best part is it never needs to be washed because it never gets dirty. It is designed to use horizontally rather than vertically, it cuts open the can but doesn't touch the food inside. It has built in little pliers to remove the lid and it can be replaced if you are going to store it in the refrigerator half used. I am such a fan of Rosle products- smartly engineered and of great quality. Don't be dismayed about the price because you will not likely need another can opener in your lifetime.

There are two versions of this product. One with a plastic handle and the all stainless version with pliers grip. I am writing this review for the all stainless version. I am a real fan of Rosle and have several of their products and am happy with every one. They are of high quality and are a great addition to any kitchen. As for this item, as I said in the title it is amazing. Never has it been easier to open a can,there are no sharp edges and the can top can be placed back on the can. No residue will get on the opener so there is no need for cleanup and no bacteria hiding on the opener. I have had friends purchase this opener as well as other Rosle products after seeing mine.
When you open your first can with a Rosle you may be surprised and think "it didn't work" as it takes very little effort to open the can. But grab the can edge with the pliers grip and it will lift right off. This is truly an impressive product and well worth the price.

I decided to shop for a can opener online because all I could find in local stores were openers made in China. I was a bit dissapointed when the $40 Rosle can opener arrived with a "Made in China" sticker attached. don't get me wrong, it seems well built but I thought I was paying the high price for a German crafted kitchen tool.

It does work as described and leaves no sharp edges but is nearly impossible to use on a can that is slightly dented and on a perfect can it is more cumbersome to use than a standard top opening manual opener.

The rosele can opener is expensive but worth every penny.
My wife loves it as she never has to clean it and it works on
every can she has applied it to. It is easy to use and does the job with little effort. Every other can opener we purchased fell apart or did not work and that includes electric versions.

This is BY FAR the BEST can opener I have ever used! Quality all the way through( even though the sticker on it says 'made in china'). It feels like a precision tool that will probably outlast me. It seemed pricey, but after using it, it is easy to realize the value.

I've purchased numerous cheap can openers in my day and I've finally found one that works great and will last. This sucker is the Ferrari of can openers. It actually cuts the top off the can from the side rather than cutting into the top which keeps it clean. This opener has some weight to it. No cheap plastic here. I'm cheap, but this thing is the end all be all of can openers. Whoa. I just re-read this review and if someone had told me 10 years ago that I was going to be gushing over the benefits of a can opener I would have told them to give me the big slap in the face I deserve.

What can I say about a can opener. It works and is cute to boot. Yet oftentimes since I use this so infrequently I have to try to remember how it works. I am so used to the mechanism of the old style can opener that this trips me up every time. I do think that I have the hang of it now though. My guests hardly ever figure it out so I get a kick of letting them try... especially the guys. Overall quality product. It just feels solid in your hands. Very smooth and efficient. Sometimes I don't even realize that the can is open already...until I try to lift the cover.

Rosle Can Opener Works perfectly every time. No more sharp edges. No more gunk on the can opener. Super neat. I always use the little pincers to pry off the lids. Super neat feature when you get the hang of it - which should take more than 3 tries. Yes - it was expensive. But it'll last the rest of my life. Get one. You will not regret it.

Well made, so well that I really think it will last a lifetime. It opens cans cleanly and with no sharp edges anywhere just as it says it does. I bought the other Rosle can opener that operates along the side of the can rather than over the top of the can like this one and it worked great for about 3 years before it started slipping and ultimately not working. I used it to open square cans and the stress caused by those corners was probably too much. That was a good can opener, but on comparing them side by side, I can see where the other had a certain weakness in it's design that was bound to fail eventually with enough use especially when used on square cans. I see no such design flaws in this all stainless steel Rosle can opener. It doesn't suffer the same stress on it's parts with those corners because of the way it works from the top of the can and not from the side. I'll be very surprised if it ever fails. There are plenty of things in life that cause us aggrevation; buy a very nice can opener like this and remove one of those aggrevating things from your life.

This opener certainly lives up to its name and performance. It does its job exactly as described in the instructions and its reviews. I am glad I am the proud owner of one.
