The Best Potato Masher Ever!,

After having several other potato mashers fall apart on me during the most inconvienient situations (i.e., while mashing avocados for guacamole), and nearly being impaled in the process, I bought a Rosle. The difference is phenomenal. Rosle's products combine great ergonomic engineering with high-quality stainless construction, and the masher is no exception. Its design allows the cook to combine just the right amount of force more precisely, resulting in effortless and lump-free mashing (no more problems with cranky avocados), and it cleans up easily. I've had mine for over a month, and suspect it will be the last potato masher I'll ever buy -- unless, of course, I need an additional Rosle.

The masher is a smash design. No way to ignore that. It works very effectively too. My only hesitation to award five stars is that it's fabricated in China and I have my doubts of the durability of the item. Had I but known I would not have purchased it. I assumed a Rösle Potato Masher would be made in Germany, especially at the price charged.

A Fine Tool,

Looks great, easy, productive mashing, ideal results, very easy to clean, and very sturdy.
The round masher is less ideal, however, than an oval masher. Requires some stirring to get at potatoes next to edge of the pot (oval mashers better fit against larger inside curvature of pot). Harder to store than oval masher (does not fit in drawer).

I like the solidness of this masher. It does the job much more quickly than the old sinuous types and is very strong. Worth the money.

Amazon needs to update its information, this item is now made in China. The reason I have been willing to spend more to get Rosle utensils is that they were made in Germany, but that seems to be no more. Too bad.

Tried it ... Didn't like it.,

The Good: - The handle's pommel guard, which keeps the potatoes from stabbing back while they are being mashed. The Bad: - Mediocre results. Not much better than traditional thick wire mashers; on a par with similar (and much cheaper) grid mashers, like WMF and Oxo. - Too short when mashing in a large bowl -- needs longer handle. - Pommel guard and long bars are not shaped for easy cleaning. - $$$$$!!!! $45 is ridiculous!

Quality, durable, beautiful item,
This review is from: Rösle 12780 Potato Masher (Kitchen)
I've had one of these mashers for over six years. It's highly effective, looks great despite lots of use, and has proved extremely durable. Rosle products aren't the cheapest by any means, but in my experience they are worth the investment for their long life.

Made in China,

Unfortunately the manufacturing info on this item is inaccurate. Rosle sold out their fellow countrymen and shipped the jobs to China, supporting a country with extreme human rights violations and criminally lax environmental and product safety standards. Quality is now dubious at best and only worth a fraction of the price being charged.

It feel sturdy, and mashes with ease. I have tried other mashers and I am very happy I decided to purchase this one. Definitely worth the price.

we bought this to mash our refried beans as our standard wavy style potato masher left the beans pretty unscathed. This works well, but the price is too high. My husband bought this because he loves other Rosle products as well (like the cool can opener)
