My Favorite New Tool,

I got one of these for Christmas and at first was doubtful about how well it could do at aerating the sauces I'd use it for. By the time I got finished using it for the first time, I was sold. It's especially useful for cheese sauces or anything where ingredients tend to stick to a pan's bottom no matter how careful you are. The flat build means you can get into those corners.

These flat whisks are great -- I have 2 of them! The are great for mixing sauces and making gravy...you can whisk the entire bottom of the pan without any effort at all.

I love my flat whisk! I was given one by my mother in law years ago and have been a convert ever since. This is a workhorse of a kitchen tool that I use everywhere I used to use a fork or a spoon to mix. The whisk action speeds up almost all mixing and it's hefty enough to pull through muffin mix and delicate enough for sauces. I include one in every registry gift I send as "Something from your registry, and something from our kitchen we wouldn't want to live without"!

Very nice flat whisk,

I love whisks. I have them in all shapes and sizes. I think everyone should have a flat whisk like this one. They're so useful for beating things that don't require quite as much air as a balloon whisk, and they let you get into the corners and curves better. This is my go-to whisk for scrambling eggs before they go into the pan. Some will find it not necessary to spend a few extra dollars for a Rosle whisk, but this is a great, well made product with a nice weight in the hand and beautiful brushed steel finish.

This smaller whisk, best for use in small skillets or saucepans (a larger one would be more appropriate for a 12" skillet, for example), has an excellent build quality and heft to it. It feels like a serious tool. That said ... I got it thinking its country of origin was not China, but sadly, it was. While it's built well, it's not worth 2x the price of a similar OXO for functionality.

I like the flat wisks okay, but for certain things. It's good material and will last a long time. It's just getting used to not using a fork, which is what I grew up using. :o)
