So there I was, roysh, putting the 'in' in 'in crowd', hanging out, pick of the babes, bills from the old pair to fund the lifestyle I, like, totally deserve. But being a schools rugby legend has its downsides, roysh, like all the total knobs wanting to chill in your, like, reflected glory, and the bunny-boilers who decide they want to be with me and won't take, like, no for an answer. And we're talking totally here. Basically, it may look like a champagne bath with, like, Nell McAndrew, with, like, no clothes and everything, but I can tell you, roysh, those focking bubbles can burst.And when they do OH MY GOD! Ross O'Carroll-Kelly is all meat and no preservatives, roysh, at least, that's what it says in the can in, like, one particular south Dublin girls' school, which shall remain nameless, roysh, basically to protect the names of the guilty. You know who you are.

I sat on the sofa and read this book front to back in an afternoon. I laughed out loud on every page. If you're ever feeling guilty about being selfish, read this book, the main character will make you feel like a saint.

If you are only going to read one of the 'fictional autobiographies' I would pick "ps. I scored . . ". However, once you've read those I think you'll want to pick the rest of these up.
How can Ross be so dumb and yet so successful? Probably funnier for guys but I love this series.

I seriously love this series. The first four books should really be read as one big book, as the broader storyline fully arks with "P.S. I scored the bridesmaids." I've read the full series now, and find myself gifting copies of the first four books to friends. The humor is not for everyone, but if you have a softspot in your heart for sophomoric set-ups with subtle (and occasionally shocking) depth, then you will eat this up. While this series is written for an Irish audience, it indirectly comments on American pop-culture and economic trajectory. There is something searingly truthful about viewing the comically tragic influence of Americanized coming-of-age through the Irish lens. The language and slang can be a bit choppy to get used to at first, but there are great wiki posts and web resources to help with these (also see the fb group: R'OCK in the USA). After a while, you will find yourself reading these with ease and wishing Americans had wittier slang.
