The picture in the product description make these plates look like they would hold a good size scoop of food along with a garnish...in reality they are about one and a half inches in diameter and only hold about three peas...perhaps one melon ball. Very deceptive advertising; I'm glad Amazon has such a good return policy.

The misleading title of "plate" is what throws you a curve! I made the same mistake, but, being a 'Pollyanna' I made lemonade.I used them for individual pats of butter at each setting. It saves a lot that "please pass me the butter" at the crowded Thanksgiving table. I'm sure I'll come up with other uses like tiny deserts (I make little cheesecakes) or maybe a sauce or other condiment.
